TOTNES . —Pleiades Lodge ( No . 1012 ) . —On Thursday , January 20 th , a Lodge was hold at the Masonic Room , Totnos ; the Lodge was opened by the AV . M ., Bro . lhe Rev . AA . Y . Daykin , who then stated to the Brethren thafc he had a particular engagement , ancl asked Bro . Henry Bridges , P . M ., to take the chair . Bro . Bridges then raised Bro . P . Hackin , passed Bro . Searle , aud initiated Mr . Richard Manning . Bro . Bridges then stated that the festival of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution for Aged Freemasons and their AVidows , ivould be held ou AA ednesday tho 26 th January , ancl asked tho Loclge for the annual subscription of one guinea , which was at once granted , as well as individual subscriptions from the members present , ivhich amounted to £ 5 10 s . The Loclge was then closed .

Sherry , H . Huggins , ancl AA aterman . Bro . Lieutenant Cole Avas present as a visitor . Tho AA . M . and several other members of the Loclge were absent this eveningbeing present in Londonin order to attend the festival

, , of the Royal Benevolent Institution for aged Masons . Bro . AA aterman was passed to the second degree ; and Bro . Huggins was raised to the degree of Master Mason , the ceremony being mosfc ably ancl impressively performed by Bro . Everitt , assisted , by Bros . Larkin , La Croix , and E . Sherry . There were two items on the notice paper for discussion , but in consequence of the absence of the AV . M . ancl other members of the Lodge , they ivere postponed for consideration at the next Lodgo meeting , when it is expected there will be a largo attendance . Theses subjects aro

as follows : —First , a paper received from Bro . Havers , as President of the Board of General Purposes ; and secondly , a report on the Masonic charities from Bros . Lyall ancl Symonds . The Loclge being closed , the members adjourned for refreshment , and spent an hour or so in brotherly affection and harmony .
