Mason is a white lamb skin apron , edged with scarlet ; on the flap a triple tau within a triangle , and the latter surrounded by a circle . Scarfs are entirely dispensed with . For officers , a scarlet collar , coming to a point in the front , edged with gold lace .

A Masonic Historical Society has recently been organized in Ohio , ivith Bro . AV . B . Thrall , president , and Cornelius Moore , of Cincinnati , secretary . A similar society exists iu Collinsville , Ohio . On Dec . 29 th , a new Masonic hall , for Meridian Splendour Lodge , New-port , was dedicated by the Gvand Lodge of Maine ; and on Dec . 2 Sth , Pond Lodge at Hartlaucl AA'as constituted , consecrated , and its officers installed in ample form . A ball Ai-as giA'en by the Masons of NeAV Bedford , Mass ., complimentary to Sir Knight Timothy Ingi-ahaui , on the evening of Dec . tith , said to be a grand success . Cambridge Lodge , Illinois , held high festival on the 8 th of December last , at Avhich time their officers elect were duly installed by P . G . M . Thomas Picketts , of Rock Island . One of the most interesting features was a presentation by tho wives of tho brethren of a splendid copy of the Holy Scriptures .

A dispensation for a Loelge at Orange has just been granted by tho Grand Master of Massachusetts . Ifc starts ivith sixteen members , good men aud true . The brethren of St . Albans , Vermont , have jusfc completed their new hall , and used ifc for the first time at their annual officer election . Ifc is considered the most convenient and inviting room of its kind to bo found in that region of country . On the 27 th of December , the Lodges of Cincinnati , Ohio , met

together for the purpose of installing their oflicers and enjoying a social reunion . The meeting AA'as hold in the A erandaii , and a large company of the brethren ivere present . Bro . E . T . Carson presided , assisted by Bros . Chas . Brown and John D . Caldwell . During tho session of the Grand Encampment , at Connersville , Indiana , a grand bancpiefc was given at Alasonic Hall . It camo off on the evening of December Sth , aud AA'as a most happy occasion . Eloquent speeches were made , and toasts given ; all present feeling that it was good to be there .

TEMPLE LODGE BALL . Tins brilliant affair took place at Radley ' s Hotel , on Tuesday , the 1-Jth instant . The ball-room was tastefully decorated by Bro . Tutill , a member of fche Lodge . Bro . Adams's band was , as usual , first rate . An excellently arranged programme , unlimited refreshments of the best quality , a numerous attendance , not only of the brethren in full Masonic Craft costume , but also of ladies , the services of Bro . Taylor as M . C ., together with the untiring efforts of tho stewards , made it decidedly

one of the best balls of the season . Dancing commenced about nine , was carried on with great spirit until twelve , when , the first part of the programme being finished , the company adjourned to the supper-room , where a splendid repast awaited them . Bro . AVynne , P . AI ., occupied the chair in the absence of the AV . M . ; Bro . Farthing , S . A \ . ; Bro . Beard , J . AV . After tlie usual loyal toasts , Bro .
