The report of the Audit Committee , and the accounts which had been prepared last October , but were not examined till recently , were read , adopted , and ordered to he entered on the minutes . From these it appeared that the income of the lodgo during the previous year had been about £ 75 , and the expenses about £ 60 . Some discussion took place on the arrears of dues , but owing to the limited attendance nothing was done . The lodge was closed at a quarter past seven .

" The collection , in aid of the Colchester National Schools , amounted to £ 10 9 s . 6 d . After service , the procession re-formed , and , by Wyre and
High Street , returned to tbe Town Hall . Lodge being resumed , a vote of thanks was passed to the Prov . G . Chap ., accompanied by the request that he woidd allow bis sermon to bo printed for circulation amongst Masons . A vote of thanks was also passed to the Worshipful the Mayor of Colchester ( Francis Smythies , Esq . ) , the Grand Master and the Grand Secretary specialldrawing attention to the fact that
y not only had his AVorship granted them the use of the Hall , but had himself called to enquire if the wishes of the Brethren had been fully carried out , and their comforts attended to . Votes of thanks were also passed to tho Rev . H . J . Bodily for the use of the Church for service ; to the R . AV . P . G . Master , and the D . P . G . Master for their attendance . The Lodge was then closed in due form . About a hundred of the Brethren proceeded to Banquet at the
Three Cups Hotel , under the presidency of the R . AV . Prov . G . M ., at which the ample provisions of Bro . J . AV . Salter deservedly gave general satisfaction . The loyal toasts were drank with full honours . Foremost amongst the strictly Masonic toasts were the following — " The Earl of Zetland , " 26 years Grand Master of England ; " The R . AV . D . G .
