The D . Prov . G . M ., Bro . Andrew Meggy , proposed "the health of the Prov . G . M ., " remarking that , as a man and as a Mason , their Master was one of whom they might all feel justly proud ; and he expressed a hope that for many years Bro . Bagshaw might be spared to preside over the Province . The R . AA . Prov . G . M ., returned thanks , and said that during the 40 years he had been a member of the craft he had many opportunities of experiencing the advantages of Masonry . He
expressed his gratification at seeing so largo an attendance that day , and at the reception that he always met with in the Province . He acknowledged the able manner in which the business of the day had been conducted , and was pleased with the compliment that had been paid him by the attendance of many visiting brethren , and particularly by one who sat upon his left , tbe D . G . M . for Suffolk , Bro . the Rev . E . J . Lockwood .
The Rev . Bro . returned thanks , giving utterance to truly Christian and Masonic sentiments . The Prov . G . M . proposed "the Health of the Chaplains , Bros , the Rev . E . R . Horwood and the Rev . AV . J . Skilton . " . The former , in returning thanks , said he had hoped that in descending from the pulpit that day his duties for a time had ceased ; still he was pleased to have that opportunity to meet so
many of the Brethren upon that festive occasion , for he was convinced that the sentiments and the Grand principles of Masonry were calculated to stifle personal selfishness—to make us more happy here , as well as to prepare us the better for a future and eternal state of being . TheR . AV . P . G . M ., proposed "the Grand Officers ; " and Bro . A . Meggy , Bro . J . Burton , Bro . A . Cobb , and Bro . John Wright Carr having replied , the last toast of the evening proposed was
the " Masonic Charities , " which was drank in silence . The Prov . G . M . then left the chair , and the Brethren separated about half-past ten o ' clock .
