J ., ( who most impressively delivered the two portions of the solemn and beautiful consecration prayer ) , Major Brewin , P . Z . 279 , P . G . S . E . ; Rev . AV . Langley , M . E . On the conclusion of the very effective ceremony [ of consecration , a board of installed principals was formed , and the ceremony of installation was performed by Comp . Kelly , the Rev . Comp . Langley being installed in turn , in the third , second and first chairs , and Comp . Newcome in the third and second chairs :

the appropriate charges and addresses being delivered to them in the progress of the ceremony . The companions having been called in , a ballot was taken for Bros , the Rev . W . Kay Robinson , P . M .. Henry Douglas , S . AV ., J . J . Fast , J . W ., and J . Selby , all of No . 1 , 130 , as candidates for tbe degree , due notice baying been given in the summons . They were unanimously elected , and were severally exalted by the newly installed M . E . Z . most efficientlywho was most ably assisted bComp . Tolleras P . S .

, y , , and Comp . Brewin , as N . On the conclusion of the ceremony the historical lecture was delivered by Comp . Brewin , and the symbolical aud mystical lectures by Comp . Kelly . Crow for his admirable manner of conducting the musical ceremonies . Several propositions having been made , the chapter was closed in solemn form and with prayer , after which tbe visitors were most hospitably entertained at a banquet by the members of the new chapter .

The following dispensation was read : — "Grand Lodge of Mark Masters , Winchester , 25 th May , 1869 . —It having been represented that it will be for the advantage of the interests of the Economy Lodge of Mark Masters , No . 52 , that Bro . Edward Sheppard should be installed as AA . M . for the ensuing year , the members of the lodge are hereby authorised to elect and install Bro .

Sheppard as AV . M ., notwithstanding he has not filled the office of AVarden in a Mark Master's lodge . This dispensation must be read in open lodge prior to the confirmation of the minutes of the election , and must be entered on the minutes of the lodge . — By command of the M . W . G . M ., Frederick Binckes , G . S . " The minutes of the last lodge were read and confitmed , and the R . AV . brother then " advanced" the following candidates : — Bros . Thomas G . Sealy , J . James Harris , E . Hewitt ( the last-named , in conjunction with Bro . F . J . Barratt , haviug this evening been balloted for and elected . The R . AV . brother then proceeded with the installation Bro . J . R . Stebbing , G . Treas ., presented the W . M . elect , Bro . Edward Sheppard , in an eloquent address , and the ceremony was proceeded with . Bro . Sheppard being placed in the chair appointed his officers as recorded in the fore-part of this report . The R . AV . Bro . Binckes then addressed the AV . M . AVardens

, , Overseers , and brethren , concluding with an eloquent speech . Bro . Stebbing proposed that a vote of thanks be given and recorded on the minutes of the lodge to Bro . Binckes for his very great kindness in attending here to-day at great personal inconvenience , and for the very great Masonic treat be had given us by his skill in working the ceremonies of "advancing" and installation . Bro . Naish , Treas ., seconded the proposition , which was put to tho lodge and carried with great acclamation . Bro .

Stebbing invited the W . M . and as many of the brethren of this lodge as could make it convenient to attend at Southampton the next day at his installation as W . M . of tho St . Andrew's Mark Master ' s Lodge , No . 63 . Nine other candidates being proposed for advancement at the next meeting , which will take place on Thursday , the 24 th inst ., the lodge was closed , and the brethren partook of an excellent banquet , provided by Bro . Priddis , and enjoyed a most pleasurable and intellectual evening , separating at high twelve .

LANCASHIRE ( EAST ) . MANCHESTER . —^ . Andrew ' s Lodge ( No . 22 , S . C . )—Consecration and Installation . —This new lodge of Mark Masters was consecrated on Thursday , the 27 th May , at the Bush Hotel , Deansgate , in . presence of a large number of the brethren of that degree . Bro . Entwbistle , R . W . P . M . St . John ' s ( No . 2 , S . C ) , Boltonwas appointed bthe Supreme Grand Royal Arch

, y Chapter of Scotland , as the consecrating aud installing officer , and was assisted by Bros . Whitaker , R . AA . M . ; and Taylor , S . W . of No . 2 . The lodge was opened in due form at five o'clock , and Bro . Entwbistle ordered the warrant to be read , as also the document authorising the consecration . The R . AV . M . designate , Bro . Charles Fitzgerald Matier , was then presented and installed in due form . The other brethren named in the

warrant , Bro . AV . AA ayne , S . AV ., and Bro . J . A . Whyatt , J . AV ., were invested with the badges of office . The following officers were then appointed : —Bros . AV . G . Turner , M . O . ; James Parr , jun ., S . O . ; Hopkins , J . O . ; Abbey , Treas . ; Phillipson , Sec . ; Robberds , T . Kelpor ; Dean , Tylei ; and received the appropriate addresses from Bro . Entwhistle . M . of No . 2 , returned thanks in a most eloquent manner . " The Health of the Installing Master , Bro .

Entwhistle , " was entrusted to the S . W . In replying , Bro . Entwhistle spoke at some length of his connection with Murk Masonry under the Scottish Constitution , he being one of the oldest members of that degree in England . He trusted that the brethren of the St . Andrew ' s Lodge would all study hard to attain excellence in the working of this beautiful degree , and that under the able guidance of their newly-installed R . AV . M ., Bro .
