METROPOLITAN .

LODGE OP FAITH ( No . 141 ) . —This Lodge held its last meeting for the season at Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet Street , on Tuesday , 25 th inst . The Lodge was opened with solemn prayer , by tho W . M ., Bro . Speed , supported by his officers , Bros . E . E . Taylor , S . W . ; Green , J . W . ; Themans , S . D . ; and Kennet , I . G . There were also several Past Masters present . The minutes of last meeting having been read and confirmed , the AV . M . proceeded to Lodge business , which consisted of work in all three degrees , and

were ably rendered by the W . M ., assisted by Bros . Gotthuil , P . M . ; Hill , I . PM . After the usual business , Bro . Harris , P . M ., rose to call attention to the number of brethren whose subscriptions are so much in arrear , but who , nevertheless , always attend the banquet , and arc seldom seen at any other time or oifany other occasion ; the . feeling was very strong on this subject , and the general opinion was that such members ought to be prevented from taking refreshments under the circumstances , whilst a few

advocated expulsion . On on this occasion there was no banquet , the brethren alluded to , were , of course , absent , and the Lodge was unanimous in recommending the W . M . to express his disapprobation to the brethren for their neglect . The lodge was then closed in due form after a very arduous evening ; the much esteemed AV . 'M . then invited the brethren present , to partake of slight refection , and a glass of wine , after which the brethren separated , well pleased at the finish of a vary successful season , wishing all true happiness and God speed until their next meeting .

GREAT NORTHERN LODGE ( No . 1 , 287 ) . —The regular meeting of this lodge was held at the Great Northern Hotel , Kings Cross , on Thur day , 20 th ult . Present : —Bros . E . D . 382 . The lodge was then opened in the first degree iu due form and witli solemn prayer , Messrs . Stanway and Guyton were balloted for and unanimously approved , and Bros . Edmonton and Lay were examined and entrusted . The lodge was opened in the second degree , and Bros . Edmiston and

Lay were duly passed . The lodge was resumed to the first degree , when Messrs . Stanway and Guyton were initiated , and Bros . Passefond and Quail were examined and intrusted . The lodge was resumed to the second degree , and Bros . Passefond and Quail were passed iu due form . The lodge was then resumed to the first degree . The minutes of the last meetmg were read and confirmed . The W . The lodge was closed in due form , and with solemn prayer , and adjourned to the third Thursday in October , emergencies excepted , of which every member will have due notice . Adams expressed the gratification hs had experienced at witnessing the admirable working of the lodge .

Moore , on his appointment , which was carried by acclamation , the brethren saluting that energetic brother in due form as an officer of the Grand Lodge . Bro .
