reyou copy cently received from the _ Sydney Lodge ( No . 25 ) , Sydney , N . S . W ., under this jurisdiction . I am to express to you the extreme regret and dissatisfaction of the MW . G . M . at the course which the R . A . Chapter of Scotland has thought fit to pursue—a course which , in the G . M . ' s opinion , can scarcely be considered to be in accordance with Masonic good feeling . I am also to

infoTm ' you that a petition Las been received from certain brethren in Glasgow for a warrant from this Grand Lodge for a Mark Lodge in that city . Enclosed is a copy of a resolution passed at the last meeting of this Grand Lodge with reference thereto .

I have also to enclose a copy of the memorandum of recognition ( subject to certain modifications ) of this Grand Lodge by the Sup . Gr . Co . 33 ° ; and I am finally directed by the Grand Master to state that while , on the one hand , he is eai * nestly desirous to be on terms of the greatest fraternal intercouse with the Supreme R . A . Chapter of Scotland , he is , on the other hand , determined to

vindicate fhe authority of this Grand Lodge , and to maintain the interests of its subordinate lodges , by all the means at his disposal . I have , therefore , to suggest that with a view to obviate the complications which are likely to arise from the further continuance of the present unsatisfactory relations between this Grand Lodge and the Supreme R . A . Chapter of Scotland , some eminent

brother should be appointed by you to confer with the Grand Master as to the terms on " which an agreement between the two bodies may be arrived at .
