, display jewels by those who had occupied high positions in the Craft being somewhat considerahle ; whilst the variety of colours bad a pleasing effect . The refreshments , supplied by Mr . Stone , were of the best description , and , as is always the case , reflected the greatest credit on the proprietor of the hall . G 4-5 ) . — The installation of this lodge was held on AVednesday , the 5 th inst ., at the Freemasons' Hall , Cooper-street , and was attended by a large number of members and visitors . The lodge was opened punctually at four o ' clock by Bro . Charles Heywood ,. W . M ., Prov . G . Reg . E . L ., assisted by his officers . The minutes were road and confirmed , and there being no other business before the lodge the installation was at once proceeded with .

The chair was taken by Bro . J . L . Hine , P . M ., P . Prov . S . G . AV . E . L ., the Installing Master , and the AV . M . elect , Bro . P . Peterson , who had been unanimously elected , was then presented and installed according to ancient custom , and saluted in the several degrees . The following were appointed : —Bros .
