benevoy lent institutions , and this alone ivould recommend its circulation , lint not merely to this must I refer ; the information conveyed in its pages spreads far , and is of such a nature that its recommendation becomes the duty of every true Mason . It is the organ of every thing philanthropic and Masonic , and will he a source of instruction to some of the German readers in England , AVIIO arc unacquainted with German Masonry .
The Jews in particular have great cause to encourage the editor , for he has nobly fought their battle in Germany , ancl to the instrumentality of his papers they owe it that they are at present admitted as " permanent visitors" to most ofthe German Lodges . We should also be glad to receive the circulars convening tho various Lodges . Afc tho . Prince Frederick William Lodge of Instruction , No . 1055 , on Wednesday , 23 rd , the ceremony of consecration ivill be rehearsed , Bro . Thos . A . Adams officiating as consecrating Master .
METROPOLITAN . GRAND STFAVAnns' LODGE . — -This Lodge met on Wednesday , the 16 th mst ., under the able presidency of Bro . Heivlett , AV . M ., Avhen arrangements wore made for working the lectures of the 2 nd and 3 rd degrees « n the last public night of the year , December 21 . All Master Masons are eligible to be present .
Exoeu LODGE ( NO . 11 ) . —The first meeting of the season took place last " Wednesday , November 9 , at the Freemasons' Tavern , when the W . M . Br . M . in a very able manner passed Bro . George Tickell to the second degree . Mr . Taylor was then introduced , and in . very impressive manner initiated into the mysteries of antient , Freemasonry . The next business was the election of Master don
for the ensuing year , and the votes being unanimous , Bro . Hay , S . W ., Avas elected to that important office . Bro . Smith was also re-elected Treasurer . Tho audit committee ivas appointed . On tho motion of Bro . J . Smith , Treasurer , seconded by Bro . Brett , P . M ., it was agreed that a jewel of the value of five guineas be presented to Bro . Baker , as a mark of respect the Lodge entertains toAvards him for his efficient conduct during the past year . a . loyal and Masonic toasts were given , and the evening was spent in great harmony , duriug which tho health of Bro . George Tickell , captain of the Ae / iiicot-rf , was proposed , wishing him safe and prosperous on the voyage he was about to commence to Australia . Bro . Tickell responded , aud said that while ho Avas on the seas lie should ever remember with lively feelings the great pleasure he had experienced by being admitted to the light of Freemasonry in the Domatic Lodge ; and in August next he hoped again to havo the pleasure of seeing them in tho Lodgo .

Moore was introduced , and duly initiated into the mysteries of Free masonry . There being no other business , the Lodge was closed , and about forty-five brethren partook of refreshment .
