Haye's article on " Canongate Kilwinning , " appearing in last week ' s MAGAZINE . It is scarcely necessary to say that the wood-cuts in question have no reference to the article in which they are introduced . We expect shortly to have the pleasure of reproducing the prematurely published illustrations under their proper designation and in connection with Bro . Lyon ' s nromised " Ears of Wheat . "

ALBION LODGE ( SO . 9 ) . —A meeting of the brethren of this well-ordered lodge was held at the Freemasons' Tavern , Great Queen-street , Lincoln ' s-inn-fields , on the evening of Tuesday , the 5 th inst . Bro . Willey , the highly-esteemed W . M ., presided in a manner that left nought to be desired . Bro . Waller received at his hands the land-marks leading to the point beyond the vestibule , and Bro . Papineau was memoried with the mystic moral of the degree of 31 . M . Both ceremonies were well and

worthily worked by the W . M ., who was greeted by the P . M . ' s and other brethren in language of the highest praise . Duty being fulfilled , and the jewel of the W . M . announcing the conclusion of labour , refreshment succeeded , and an elesant banquet ( under the direction of Bro . Gosden , the excellent manager of the Tavern ) graced the board . The usual toasts were given by the W . M ., and received with the customary

honours due to them ; but the most gratifying portion of the evening ' s proceedings was the presentation by the W . M . of a P . M . ' s jewel of the most elaborate manufacture to Bro . F . Stevens , the I . P . M . The presentation was preceded by a most eloquent eulogy , in which was recapitulated all that the recipient of the gift of gratitude had done for the lodge during his year of office . Bro . Stevens returned his acknowledgments of his sense of the deep obligation bestowed upon him , and

having alluded to the fact that this was the first time a P . M . jowel had been presented in the lodge , he was proud to think that the members had considered him deserving of it , and expressed a strong hope that the brethren of the lodge , either now fulfilling the duties of the minor offices , or desirous of rising in the Craft , would emulate his example , and give as much of their time as they could spare to the study both of the letter and spirit of our admirable Fraternityand themselves

, prove , as he had done , worthy of the estimation of their fellow Masons . His response elicited loud Masonic approbation . The P . M . 's present were Bros . Stevens . I . P . MOUNT LEBANON LODGE ( NO . 73 ) . —The regular meeting of this old prosperous lodge was held at the Green Man Tavern , Tooley-street , Southwark , on Tuesday , 19 th inst . There were present Bros . Hill and Waller were passed to the second degree . One candidate was initiated into ancient Freemasonry . All the work wasAvell and ably done , and reflected the greatest credit on the W . M . and all his officers . Bros . T . J . SabineS . W . was

unani-, , mously elected to fill the office of Steward for the Boys' School for the 1 S 6 S festival . Two gentlemen were proposed for initiation at the next lodge meeting . The fee for an emergency meeting was increased from one to two guineas . It was during the evening incidentally mentioned by the Treasurer that this lodge had during the past ten years given no less than ten guineas each year to the Boys' Schoolbesides ten guineas now

, voted for this year to the same school . The same donations had been given to the other Charities . The last donation to the Boys' School made the W . M . of this lodge a Vice-President for that Charity . Business ended , the lodge was closed . As usual a large number of visitors honoured the lodge with their presence . The usual first-class banquet followed .

NEW CONCORD LODGE ( NO . S 13 ) . Installation Meeting . The monthly aud installation meeting of this lodge was held on the loth inst ., at the Rosemary Branch Tavern , Hoxton .. Bro . William Henry Main , W . M ., presided ; Bro . Nightingale ,. W . M . elect , S . W . ; Bro- Wilson , J . W . ; and all the assistant officers were presentbesides Bros . EmmensP . M . and Treas ;

, , for Bro . Henry Lloyd , of the Royal Alfred Lodge ( No . 7 S 0 ) , and be was admitted as a joining member- The lodge was advanced to the second degree , and Bro . Abseil was passed to the degree of Fellow Craft . Bro . Emmens , P . M ., and founder of the lodge , then took the chair , and Bro . Nightingale , elected as W . M . at the last meeting , was formally presented to receive at Ills hands the benefit of the installation . Bro . Nihtingale

g having signified his assent to all the qualifications for W . M ., the brethren below the degree of an Installed Master were requested to retire , and he was in the presence of a Board of Installed Masters duly installed into the chair of K . S . as W . M . of the New Concord Lodge for the year ensuing . All below the chair

being then admitted , the new W . M . received the congratulations of the brethren and the usual salutes . The W . M . then appointed as his officers-. —Bros Wilson , S . W . ; Hart . J . Emmens then delivered the customary address , in a most impressive and faultless manner , and it elicited the warm approbation of many veterans in Freemasonry

who were present- On resuming his seat he was greeted with loud cheering . The sum of two gnineas was ordered to be applied to the list of the Steward of the Old Concord Lodge on behalf of the Boys' School . Bro . Emmens then said , as the festival for the Girls' School was approaching , unless some other brother was desirous of filling the office , he offered to take upon himself the duties of

Steward , and represent the New Concord Lodge on that occasion . This was very warmly received , audit was agreed that a sum of five guineas should be voted from the funds of the lodge to head Bro . Emmen's list . In pursuance of a note come to at the last lodge , the W . M . said he had a very pleasing duty to perform , which was to present Bro . Main , P . M ., with a jewel which the brethren had voted to him in acknowledgment of his services during the year he had presided as W . M . He had done his work well , had fairly won it , and he had the greatest satisfaction in placing it on his breast , ' trusting that he might ive long to wear it .
