The Lodgo of Instruction meets every Friday evening , at 8 o'clock , for working the

ceremonies and lectures . The Chelsea Railway Station is within live minutes' walk of the Hotel , and the Putney Bridge Omnibuses pass the door .

JOHN RUST , formerly the publisher of this MAGAZINE , who was dismissed on the 7 th of October last , for being drunk and disorderly , was tried on the 1 st Feb ., at the Old Bailey , on the first of several counts , in an indictment--Reqina v . Susi—anA was found guilty of embezzlement , and sentenced to four months' imprisonment with hard labour . The prisoner , for

some time past , by advertisement and otherwise , solicited aid from tbe members of the Craft , upon false representations , and with malicious motives . The prosecution in question did not originate , and lias no connection with the Proprietors of this MAGJZINE . This notice has become necessary in consequence of communications received from various quarters , stating that

the prisoner had attempted to excite sympathy in his behalf and under that plea obtain monies from those with whom his duties , as an employe in this oflice , brought him into communication .

ALBION LODGE ( NO . 9 J . —The brethren of this lodgo met on thc Sth inst ., under the presidency of Bro . R . Buller , W . M ., supported by Bros . AV . 11 . Baylis , S . AV . ; H . Albert , J . AV . ; Moring , P . M ., Treas . ; Burton , P . M ., Sec ; Young . S . D . ; Martin , J . D . ; Harvey , I . G . ; Stevens , P . M ., and Dir . of Cers . ; ancl P . M . ' s E . Coste , S . Coste , Valentine , ancl Friend . It was proposed that a summer banquet should take place on the second AVedncsday in July , at Bro . Benningfield's , the Crown Hotel ,

Broxbourne . Bro . Chevalier de Kontski ( pianist to the King of Prussia ) was unanimously elected an honorary member , and was appointed organist to the lodge . There being no further business , the lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to the banquet . On the removal of the cloth , the usual loyal ancl Masonic toasts were proposed . Bros . Morgan , Lodge of St . John , Calcutta ; Taylor , 192 ; H . M . Levy , P . M ., 188 , and Slonian , 25 , were present as visitors . Bro . Willey , P . M .,

informed the brethren that the two children of the late lamented Bro . Buckland , having been considered ineligible for election for the Masonic Schools , a fund would be formed to place them in another school ; and as several brothers had headed the list with the sum of five guineas , ho would also add the same amount . Pro . Kontski announced that he would have great pleasure in giving a concert in aid of the fund for tbe relief of the two children of the late Bro . Buckland ; he also stated that it wains intention to give a concert annually for the benefit of tbe Masonic charities .

EASTEKH STAB LODGE ( NO . 9 o ) . —The regular meeting of this lodge was held at the Ship aud Turtle Hotel , Leadenhallstreet , on Tuesday , the 9 th inst . Bro . G . S . Ayres , AV . M ., in the chair , supported by Bros . Hill , S . W . ; Ducas , J . W . ; E . AV . Davis , P . M ., Treas . ; Bros . Bateman , Goodc , Corner , and Clay , P . M . ' s . Thc visitors present were : Bros . MacCormack of Dublin , Wingfield , Bristol ; Bellamy and Westwood . Mr . Harry Bateman son of Bro . BatemanP . M . was initiatedthe

, , , ceremony being very impressively performed by Bro . Davis . After which the lodge was adjourned until October next . At tbe banquet , Bro . Bateman spoke of tho pleasure it had given him , to have his son ( who had just attained his majority ) , introduced into Freemasonry . Bro . MacCormack also spoke of the great treat ho bad experienced in visiting tho lodge .

Boyce , was in the chair , and all his ollicors and a goodly number of brethren were present to support him . The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed , Bro . Unsworth was passed to the degree of F . C . The chair ivas taken by Bro . Hyde , S . AV . and WM . elect , who , in a very admirable manner , initiated into the

mysteries of -ancient Freemasonry a personal friend . Bro . Hyde was then installed into tbe Master ' s chair , the ceremony being performed by Bro . II . AVhite , P . M . The newly-installed AV .
