Tho fashionable portion of the Grimsby public have seldom been so gay , and never appeared to such advantage as on Friday evening in the Town Hall . The object of thc ball was in every way worthy of the occasion . The Freemasons of Grimsby , though numerous and influential , have not a place of meeting worthy the Pelliam Pillar Lodge . The ball was a great Masonic treat in
itself , and if the result be a fair balance towards a neiv Masonic hall , everyone will think it a matter of rejoicing . AVe refer with pleasure to the able manner in which Bro . Eobiuson performed the duties of M . C ., so that from beginning to end the programme was carried through without mistake or confusion . The AV . M . ( Bro . Copelnnd ) acted throughout with good judgment , and was
ably assisted by the worthy Mayor . Tho committee had arranged that the wives aud children of Masons should be permitted to occupy the gallery from ei ght to eleven o ' clock , and the privilege was gladly embraced by many
