This having concluded the business of the evening , the lodge was closed in the several degrees ,

BI . announced the death of the Tyler in the rooms he had occupied on the lodge premises . His powers
had long been failing , so that Ms duties had of late been performed with difficnlty , and he at last sank from the effects of old age and infirmity , after having been fifty-five years a member of the Blasonic body . Bro . Bullen was followed to the grave by the Constable of the parish , the AV . M . and J . AV . of the lodge , aud other brethren . Bosdet , a candidate for initiation at seven days' notice , on the proposition
of Bro . Le Cappelain , seconded by Bro . Blannan , after ample evidence had heen received as to his fitness for it . This having proved unanimous in his favour , aud the usual declaration having been signed and duly attested , the candidate was introduced properly prepared , and regularly initiated by the W . M . The charge was given hy Bro . Dr . Hopkins , I . P . M . B / o . C . Le Sueur was unanimously re-elected Treasurer . On a ballot being taken for the election of W . BI . for the ensuing year , the

BI . 342 , who , however , declined accepting the honour on the present occasion , but promised to be at the service of the lodge if elected at the end of another year . We agree with our author that there has been a greatdeal of twaddle with reference to the "infamy" of some of the hardships described by the amateur " casual , " as those to which the vagrant has to submit , and we think that the amateur casual certainly overshot the mark iu this respect , as casual wards should not be comfortable gratis hotels for the idle and vicious who will not work , but decent places of refuge for those who have no other-
