2 . The Royal Art , or the Society of Free and Accepted Masons , is divided in order by twenty-five degrees , known and approved , the first is inferior to the second , the second to the third , and so forth by

progression to the twenty-fifth , which is the sublime and last degree , which governs and commands all the others without exception . All those degrees are distributed in seven classes , by which it is indispensable to pass and follow exactly the order of the time and the distances between each degree , divided by mysterious numbers , as follows :
