the first place , it was rumoured that an announcement would bo made showing the continued interest taken in tho lodge by his Royal Highness the Grand Master , and also in the fact that the AV . M . elect , Bro . Thomas Catling , although comparatively new to the Craft , had , by his zeal and energy , worked his way into the front rank in an exceptionally short time . Bro . Boverldge , D . of C . ^ ; AV . S . Penloy , org . ; P . Soman , E . Rosenthal , Dr . H . Coffin , II . Nieholls , stewards ; and G . F . Swan , tyler . The first duty which fell to the lot of the newly-installed AV . M . was , in accordance with the consent ho had received from II . R . H . the Grand Master , to propose Prince Albert A'ictor as an honorary member of the lodge . The AV . M . also stated that Prince Albert Victor hoped , if elected , to have the pleasure of dining with the brethren during the spring or summer . The
proposal was seconded by Bro . AV . K . Chapman , S . AV ., and was carried with acclamation . The following telegram was read from Bro . Sir Somors A . no , who is at Singapore , and to whom a Past Master ' s jewel was presented before his departure : — " Convey my kindest fraternal greetings to Brother Catling , and all my brethren of the Savage Club Lodge . My heart is with them . I will drink their health half an hour after midnight , when they will be sitting down to dinner . " It was also stated that a benevolent fund had been started , under the direction of Bro . Charles Town ley . The masonic work was admirably gone through by all concerned . The installation
banquet afterwards took place in tho largo hall . The W . Af . was supported on the right by Bro . _ . A . Philbrick , Q . C . ( Grand Registrar ) , and on the left by Bro .
