The figures of the year ' s subscription in the Freemason , of June 30 th , 1888 , were kindly corrected for me up to the last day of October , and I regret to say have never shown so poor a result for the last ten years and more , and I trust they will never again show such a falling off . —Yours fraternally , P . METROPOLITAN . Tun BROMLEY ST . LEONAKD LOWOE—NO . 1805-had a very pleasant evening on the occasion of the masonic ball ( for which I I . H . I { . the Prince of Wales , the M . W . G . M ., granted dispensation authorising Craft clothing to be worn ) , on the 6 th inst ., at the Bromley Vestry Hall , Bow Koad , and the members are to be congratulated on the satisfactory result to the benevolent fund , as about ten guineas will be added to it . Great credit is due to the principal officers and P . M . 's , and Bro , W . M . Mead ( the lion , sec . ) for carrying through so successfully one of the most pleasant meotings of this lodge . A very imposing feature of the evening was the reading of a letter received from the Grand Lodge of uerinany , sent by the personal direction of the late Emperor Frederick , acknowledging a letter of condolence from this Lodge of Instruction on the death of the fcmperor William I . A great honour to the lodge . Several brethren were tiuani-MoiiBly elected members , and before closing a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the W . tically . During the evening the AV . M . presented Bro . Higgs , P . M . 106 ( Superintendent of the Locomotive Department , Nine Elms , L . & S . W . ll . ) , with a very handsome P . M . 's collar and jewel , as a mark of the high esteem of certain of the brethren . The musical part of tiie programme was under the superintendence of the well-known Bro . Professor Gilardoni , 235 , and Bro . Monger , 1044 , and the

following contributed to the programme : Bios . Peterkin , 11 . Monger , Black , P . M ., Bray , Cutting , Dendi , Cowley , AV . M . 1044 , and Frost . The " visitors" spoke in the highest praise of the musical talent displayed , giving it as their opinion also that from personal knowledge there was no Lodge of Instruction in England to surpass their Wandsworth Lodge in the perfection of its emulation working .
