NOTICES OF MEETINGS .

Lodge of Prudent Brethren , No . 145 . —The regular meeting of this Lodge was held on Tuesday , the 27 th instant , at the Freemasons' Hall , Great Queen-street , under tho presidency of tho W . M ., Bro . W . R . Lister , Dr . Wilkinson S . W ., 0 . A . Woods J . W ., T . Bull P . M . Treas ., E . H . Thiellay P . M . Sec , May I . G ., Kerrell J . D ., Brock W . S ., and P . M . ' s J . T . Leggott , G . S . States , and Haslett .

Visitors—Bros . W . II . Rudderforth W . M . 1668 , L . Hirsch W . M . 1818 , Nesbitt 24 , R . Carr P . M . 24 , J . Simpson 1676 , Cash ( New Cross Lodge ) , Jenkins . The Lodge was formally opened , and the minutes were read and confirmed . Bro . P . Desplaces was passed to the second degree , and Bro . Maynard was raised . Praise is due to the W . M . for his careful and impressive rendering of the ceremonies .

The W . M . announced his intention to represent the Lodge as Steward at the next Anniversary for the Boys' School . The resignation of a brother was accepted with regret . The Lodge was then closed until November , and the brethren sat down to a very excellent banquet , provided by Bro . A . Best and superintended by Bro . E . Dawkins . The W . M ., who genially presided , briefly and appropriately proposed

the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts . In speaking to the toast of H . R . H . the Prince of Wales M . W . G . M ., the W . M . referred to the nexfc being ihe clay fixed for the Grancl Festival , when the installation of His Royal Highness would be celebrated . Every Mason would hail with pleasure his acceptance of the rulership of our Order , and all who aro privileged to attend at

that grand gathering will see what Freemasonry is . The W . M . then proposed the toast of their new member , Bro . Desplaces , who had been initiated at a former meeting , and had been passed that evening to the second degree . From the attention he had paid , not only on this occasion but on the former , to the ceremony , he was sure he would prove an acquisition to the Order . Bro . Desplaces briefly .

responded , and Bro . Leggott I . P . M . then said he hoped the brethren would give the toast he was about to propose the reception it merited , it was the health of the W . M . No one could possibly havo done the work better . He ( Bro . Leggott ) and the W . M . had worked hard together 5 ho had introduced that brother into Freemasonry , and he was proud of him . He had correctly given the true ritual of Freemasonry ,

and this would act as an incentive to those who had to follow him . Personally he should have had great pleasure in assisting him , but he did not require it j at the expiration of his year of office every brother would say he had done his duty . Tho W . M ., in reply , thanked Bro . Leggott for his kind expressions , aud tho brethren for the manner in which they had received the toast . Since his association

with the Lodge he had hoped to be its W . M ., and now he trusted he "right be amongst them for many years . He would always do all in his power for their welfare . The W . M . then proposed the toast of 'he Visitors , and called on Bros . L . Hirsch , W . Rudderforth , H . M . Levy , and Cash . These brethren paid a just compliment to the W . M . for hia excellent working and presidency . The toast of the P . M . ' s followed . The W . M . was proud to see Bro . Leggott , who had )

passed the chair in every way to their satisfaction ; no better i Workers could bo found than those brethren who had passed 'he chair of this Lodge , which had now completed its 105 th anniversary . Bro . Leggott I . P . M . said he felt proud to be ranked as a P . M . of the Lodge ; he hacl worked in every office . Wheu he looked r ° nnd he saw in the S . W . and J . W . men of intellect who would be a credit to the Lodge . In short the Officers had done everything for Freemasonry in general and for their own Lodge in particular ; he hoped «* e Lod ge would support tho W . M . in his Stewardship for the Boys '

School . Bro . Thiellay P . M . and Secretary said , that Bro . G . S . States was uot a P . M . of this Lodge , but had been its Secretary for 16 years . Bro . States' modesty would not allow him to rank as a P . M ., although ho was tho father of the Grancl Steward ' s Lodge . As senior member , Bro . G . S . States addressed a few remarks . The toast of

the Treasurer and Secretary was next given , the AVorshipful Master speaking of tho qualifications of thoso brethren in high terms of praise . Bro . P . M . and Treasurer responded . His services wore at thoir command in any way that would advance tho welfare of the Lodgo . Bro . Thiellay followed , * while holding the office of Secretary ho would endeavour to carry out what was

required of him to their satisfaction . Tho W . M . then proposed the toast of tho Oflicers , whoso able working was proverbial ; he would ask the brethren to drink tho toast heartily . Bros . Dr . Wilkinson , C . A . Woods , and Kerrell severally responded , and the Tyler ' s toast was then given : During the evening Bros . Rudderforth , May , and Hancock sang some excellent songs .

School . Bro . Thiellay P . M . and Secretary said , that Bro . G . S . States was uot a P . M . of this Lodge , but had been its Secretary for 16 years . Bro . States' modesty would not allow him to rank as a P . M ., although ho was tho father of the Grancl Steward ' s Lodge . As senior member , Bro . G . S . States addressed a few remarks . The toast of

the Treasurer and Secretary was next given , the AVorshipful Master speaking of tho qualifications of thoso brethren in high terms of praise . Bro . P . M . and Treasurer responded . His services wore at thoir command in any way that would advance tho welfare of the Lodgo . Bro . Thiellay followed , * while holding the office of Secretary ho would endeavour to carry out what was
