characterised in any other way than as a most gratifying result of the efforts of the brethren who have amongst them collected thafc amount ; while Gloucestershire , with a similar nnmber of Stewards , adds £ 358 ls to the year ' s total . As wo noticed in February last , this Province does
exceptionally well for tho London Charities , the support they afford is regular , and usually of no meagre description Hampshire and the Isle of Wight remits £ 162 15 s , at the hands of two of its three Stewards , the amount of Bro . Murray ' s list ( Lodge No . 76 ) appearing not to have been
returned up to tho day of tho Festival . Tho amount is a fair illustration of the liberality of this Province , which certainly has the merit of being regular in its support . Hertfordshire is this time content with a two figure total , £ 78 15 s being all that is accredited to its eleven Lodges .
We know that the brethren of this county do well , but we think there are one or two of its Lodges that could , without much sacrifice , spare a little more than they do . There are some good ones in the Province , and , as a matter of course , somo whose liberality is not so marked . With a
little more organisation , we thmk better results would accrue . Kent is again to the front—nine of its Lodges on this occasion sending up representatives—who , between them , bring £ 571 10 s 6 d . The largest list is that of Bro . T . D . Hayes of the Pattison Lodge , No . 913 , which
amounts to £ 207 7 s ; the nexfc that of Bro . G . Page , Lewises Lodge , Ramsgate , who has collected £ 80 17 s , and tho next that of Bro . E . Kirby , of the Lord Warden , No . 1096 , £ 68 5 s . We have on several occasions had the pleasure of placing on record the doings of our Kentish
brethren in this particular branch of Freemasonry . All we can say on the present occasion is , that we are happy to see they keep up their standard of excellence . The two divisions of Lancashire each send up five Stewards , those of tho Eastern Division totalling up £ ( 52 5 s , and their brethren
of the Western half £ 46 14 s 6 d . The latter has two lists outstanding , so that at tho finish ifc may equal , if not exceed its neighbour . It may be somewhat out of place to seek for a reason for the small amounts sent up from these two Provinces , but when we remember that East Lancashire ' s

our readers . We believe the amount given this year to " our girls " is on behalf of the son of Bro . Marshall , but in any case the thanks of the Craft are certainl y due to a brother who does so much from his private purse in aid of our Institutions . One hundred guineas represents the gift
of Monmouthshire , the amount being divided betweenitstwo Stewards , who appear to have striven successfully to maintain the reputation -which already attaches to this section of the Craft . Of the sixteen Norfolk Lodges , three only are represented , by as many Stewards , who among them have secured the sum of £ 108 2 s with which to increase the
funds at the disposal of the Committee . A similar number ol' Stewards working in the Province of Nottinghamshire have collected £ 178 10 s , of which amount Bro . Bobert Berridge , representing the Province , is down for £ 147 .

each represents Somersetshire and the Eastern Division of South Wales , the list from the former being £ 241 10 s , ancl from the latter £ 100 . As usual , Staffordshire does well , two out of its three Stewards' lists totalling up to £ 536 lis . Wo do not know whether there is anything to
come from Bro . Pepper ' s list ( 482 ) ; we believe not , as all tho amounts have been placed on that of Major Tudor , the Deputy of the Province . Suffolk and Surrey each contribute , and although neither can boast a three-figure list , thoir efforts are , wo imagine , none ' the less welcome :
