Having briefly returned thanks , Bro . Griffin proposed tho health y of tho W . M ., aud in so doing congratulated the Lodgo upon having

secured the services of so able and genial a chairman as Bro . Batchelor to preside over the festivities of the evening . Tho toast was received with acclamation , and duly acknowledged by the W . M ., who next proposed the Officers of tho Lodge . In so doing he complimented the Hon . Secretary , Bro . Gibson , npon the efficient manner in which ho had , during the past three years , discharged the duties of his

office . Bros . Gibson , Gloster , Hntchings , Coen , and Penney returned thanks . Tho Host and Hostess , proposed by the W . M . and responded to by Bro . Morgan , followed , and the Tyler ' s toast terminated the proceedings . The enjoyment of the brethren was largely enhanced by vocal and elocutionary contributions from Bros . Bear , Burney , Child , Greenwood , Gifford , Gibson , Milbourn , and Tuck .

Wandsworth Lodge , No . 1044 . —A meeting was held at the East Hill Hotel , Wandsworth , —the new rendezvous—on Wednesday , the 24 th ult . There were present , Bros . A . Newens W . M ., J . B . Walker S . W ., W . J . Huntley J . W ., J . J . Holland S . D ., F . W . Wardroper J . D ., F . Reed I . G ., J . Frost Sec , H . Wilson Treas ., W . A . Morgan P . M ., H . R . Jones P . M ., J . G . Carter P . M ., E . H . Boddy

P . M ., T . Arnison , W . T . Bell , H . Newens , Robert Walker , R . Neal , W . Springett , F . Knipler , G . Clark , A . Brownlaw , C . Mitchell , and Denham . Bros . E . Carter and G . Gregory were Visitors . Bro . Walker S . W . was unanimously chosen as the W . M . for the ensuing year . After the transaction of formal bnsiness , the brethren repaired to the banquet-room , where the ceremony of the fourth degree

was worked . The nsnal Loyal and Masonic toasts wero heartily responded to . To that of the Visitors , Bro . E . Carter replied . He paid he had observed a largo increase in the Lodge . Their mother Lodge ( No . 1014 ) had frequently given birth to twins , and he hoped she would increase her progeny by having triplets . A very pleasant evening was spent by the brethren .

West Kent Lodge , No . 1297 . —A meeting of tho brethren of this Lodgo was held on Saturday last , in the Marble Hall , south wing of tho Crystal Palace , tho new quarters of the Lodge . Bro . R . II . Crowdeu the W . M . presided , and was ably supported by tho whole of his Officers , nnd despite tho intimation at the foot of the summons , there was a largo attendance of the brethren , and but few absentees among the P . M . 's and members generally . The business consisted of

raising Bros . William Lomas and Thomas Archer , and the passing of Bros . Robert P . Jenkins and John Hicks , each of which ceremonies was admirably performed by tbo W . M . ancl his Officers . The labours of tho Lodge over , the brethren separated and strolled through the Palace and grounds , both of which aro now beginning to assume their beautiful early spring attire , which is so attractive , and for which this charming place of resort is so famous .

Prince Leopold Lodge of Instruction , No . 1445 . — Held at Bro . Stevenson ' s , the Mitford Tavern , Sandringham-road , Dalston . On Monday , 26 th April , Bros . Myers P . M . 820 and 1445 Preceptor , W . McDonald W . M ., Partridge S . W ., Lyons P . M . 1227 J . W ., Goddard S . D ., Seymour-Clarke J . D . and Sec , Kimbell I . G ., also Bros . Lewis , Winkloy , Gooch , and others . Lodge was opened in due form with prayer and minutes read . The ceremony of initiation was

ably rehearsed by tbe W . M ., Bro . Winkley being candidate . The first , second , third ancl fourth sections of the lecture were worked by the W . M . assisted by the brethren . Bro . Partridge was elected "W . M . for nexfc Monday , 3 rd May . Funds being voted for purchase of jewels , which complete the furniture and insignia of Lodge , the dues will now be devoted to purchase of Life Governorships , to be ballotted for , as per former resolution .

MARK MASONRY . UNION OF MALTA LODGE .

THE first meeting of this Lodgo under a provisional warrant of the R . W . P . G . M . was held at the Masonio Hall , Valetta , Malta , on Saturday , the 17 th April . The progress made in the working of the degree throughout the district during the past year has amply justified the legitimate desire of the brethren to havo a Mark Lodge working under tho auspices of each of tho flourishing Craft Lodges in the Island . To this end ten Mark Masters , all members of the Union Craft

Lodge , No . 407 , havo presented a petition to Mark Grand Lodge , asking for a warrant to establish a Mark Lodge bearing the same name , which has been strongly recommended by Lodge No 248 , and approved by the P . G . M ., who , in accordance with the prayer of the petitioners , has issued a provisional warrant enabling them to meet as a Lodge until the receipt of a formal charter . Tho Broadley Lodge , No . 248 , was opened

L ., and P . G . L ., and the provisional warrant . The founders having

signified then * assent to the Officers named in the petition , W . Bro . William Read P . M . 107 P . G . S . W . ( Mark ) , P . M . 407 and P . D . G . Reg . ( Craft ) , was presented to tho P . G . M . by W . Bros . Coffey and Doherty , and duly installed as W . M . M . of the new Lodge . Bro . Read then invested the following Officers : —Bros . Glenday ( W . M . 407 ) S . W ., Yeoman J . W ., Stanley M . O ., Blanch S . O ., England J . O ., May S . D .,

West J . D . Afc the request of tho W . M ., the P . G . M . then advanced the following candidates , elected by the founders , viz . Bros . Shillinglaw , Penketh , Fuller , and Senior . W . Bro . Watson delivered , in a faultless manner , the lecture on the tracing board . The W . M . on resuming the gavel , appointed Bro . Shillinglaw I . G . and Bro . Senior Secretary . Bro . Woodthorpe was elected and invested

as Treasurer , and Bro . Beck as Tyler . The D . P . G . M . Bro . Westrup presented to Bro . Read the congratulations of Lodge No . 107 , Bro . Coffey those of Lodge 248 , thoso of the Leinster Lodge ( I . C ) , and the P . G . M . those of tho Kingston and St . Louis Lodges . The W . M ., in thanking them , expressed his obligations to the P . G . M . for tho manner in which ho had complied with the wishes of the petitioners , and said he hoped the new Lodge would work in perfect harmony

with the other Mark Lodges , and eventually become an important element in the united strength of the Province . The Union Lodgo was then closed , after which Bro . Coffey closed the labours of Lodge No . 248 . There is now a Mark Lodge corresponding to each Craft Lodge in the Province , and each of these Lodges is in as flourishing a condition as the most ardent admirer of the honorable degree conld desire . A frugal repast brought this agreeable and numerously attended gathering of Mark Masters to an end .

Keystone Mark Lodge , No . 107 . —A largely attended meeting of this Lodgo was held on the 3 rd inst ., besides tbe W . M . and Officers and several members of tho Lodge , the P . G . M ., D . P . G . M ., G . S . W ., G . Secretary , G . Treasurer , G . M . O ., G . I . G ., Grand Organist , and Grand Sword Bearer , were present , as well as many Visitors from Lodge 348 E . G ., and 387 I . C , also the D . G . M . ( Craft ) W . Bro . W .

Kingston P . M . 107 . After several ballots wero taken the P . G . M . very kindly , at the request of the W . M ., advanced to the honourable degree of Mark Master , the following candidates , viz : —Bro . Tagar , Burt , McCoy , Pearce , Baldacchino , and Abbott ( P . M . ) of Zetland Lodge , No . 515 , Bro . Alsop of Lodge Harbour of Refuge , No . 764 ,

Bro . Jones of Glamorgan Lodge , No . 36 , Bro . Locketfc of Brownrigg Lodge , No . 1424 , and Bro . Connett of Bermuda Lodge , No . 358 . The ceremony being satisfactorily completed , the brethren present adjourned to a banquet afc the hospitable invitation of the W . M . and brethren of the Keystone Lodge .

Union of Malta Lodge , No . 407 . —The regular meeting took place on Wednesday , 7 th April , at the Masonio Hall , Valetta , under the presidency of the W . M ., Bro . Glenday . Besides the Officers and members of the Lodgo , several Visitors were present .

One candidate was initiated and one was raised . The Prov . D . D . G . M Bro . Broadley paid a high compliment to tho W . M . on his working , and the faultless manner in which the charge had been given by the S . W . Bro . Yeoman , and the working tools presented by the J . W . Bro . England . The Lodge was then closed and adjourned .

ORDER OF ST . LAWRENCE .

A Lodge of this Order , under the authority of the Council of Sido Degrees of England , has been opened in Malta , to be called tho Lodge of St . John and St . Paul . The inaugural meeting was bold on the 9 th April . The Lodge was opened , with the following members present : —W . Bros . F . R . Beechey W . M ., Coffey S . W .,

Starkey J . W ., Broadley as Secretary , Mortimer Conductor , W . Kingston , and Beck Tyler . Fifteen brethren being elected , they were admitted to the degree . After tbe ceremony the usual grill took place , to which the whole of the brethren sat down .

West J . D . Afc the request of tho W . M ., the P . G . M . then advanced the following candidates , elected by the founders , viz . Bros . Shillinglaw , Penketh , Fuller , and Senior . W . Bro . Watson delivered , in a faultless manner , the lecture on the tracing board . The W . M . on resuming the gavel , appointed Bro . Shillinglaw I . G . and Bro . Senior Secretary . Bro . Woodthorpe was elected and invested

as Treasurer , and Bro . Beck as Tyler . The D . P . G . M . Bro . Westrup presented to Bro . Read the congratulations of Lodge No . 107 , Bro . Coffey those of Lodge 248 , thoso of the Leinster Lodge ( I . C ) , and the P . G . M . those of tho Kingston and St . Louis Lodges . The W . M ., in thanking them , expressed his obligations to the P . G . M . for tho manner in which ho had complied with the wishes of the petitioners , and said he hoped the new Lodge would work in perfect harmony

with the other Mark Lodges , and eventually become an important element in the united strength of the Province . The Union Lodgo was then closed , after which Bro . Coffey closed the labours of Lodge No . 248 . There is now a Mark Lodge corresponding to each Craft Lodge in the Province , and each of these Lodges is in as flourishing a condition as the most ardent admirer of the honorable degree conld desire . A frugal repast brought this agreeable and numerously attended gathering of Mark Masters to an end .

Keystone Mark Lodge , No . 107 . —A largely attended meeting of this Lodgo was held on the 3 rd inst ., besides tbe W . M . and Officers and several members of tho Lodge , the P . G . M ., D . P . G . M ., G . S . W ., G . Secretary , G . Treasurer , G . M . O ., G . I . G ., Grand Organist , and Grand Sword Bearer , were present , as well as many Visitors from Lodge 348 E . G ., and 387 I . C , also the D . G . M . ( Craft ) W . Bro . W .

Kingston P . M . 107 . After several ballots wero taken the P . G . M . very kindly , at the request of the W . M ., advanced to the honourable degree of Mark Master , the following candidates , viz : —Bro . Tagar , Burt , McCoy , Pearce , Baldacchino , and Abbott ( P . M . ) of Zetland Lodge , No . 515 , Bro . Alsop of Lodge Harbour of Refuge , No . 764 ,

Bro . Jones of Glamorgan Lodge , No . 36 , Bro . Locketfc of Brownrigg Lodge , No . 1424 , and Bro . Connett of Bermuda Lodge , No . 358 . The ceremony being satisfactorily completed , the brethren present adjourned to a banquet afc the hospitable invitation of the W . M . and brethren of the Keystone Lodge .

Union of Malta Lodge , No . 407 . —The regular meeting took place on Wednesday , 7 th April , at the Masonio Hall , Valetta , under the presidency of the W . M ., Bro . Glenday . Besides the Officers and members of the Lodgo , several Visitors were present .

One candidate was initiated and one was raised . The Prov . D . D . G . M Bro . Broadley paid a high compliment to tho W . M . on his working , and the faultless manner in which the charge had been given by the S . W . Bro . Yeoman , and the working tools presented by the J . W . Bro . England . The Lodge was then closed and adjourned .

Order Of St. Lawrence.

ORDER OF ST . LAWRENCE .

A Lodge of this Order , under the authority of the Council of Sido Degrees of England , has been opened in Malta , to be called tho Lodge of St . John and St . Paul . The inaugural meeting was bold on the 9 th April . The Lodge was opened , with the following members present : —W . Bros . F . R . Beechey W . M ., Coffey S . W .,

Starkey J . W ., Broadley as Secretary , Mortimer Conductor , W . Kingston , and Beck Tyler . Fifteen brethren being elected , they were admitted to the degree . After tbe ceremony the usual grill took place , to which the whole of the brethren sat down .
