AT the meeting held in the Masonic Hall , the Crescent , on Wednesday , 8 th ult ., an interesting ceremony took place , on the occasion of the marriage of the Worshipful Master ( Bro . Thos . Pike ) , « ho entertained the members of his Lodge and a number of visiting brethren to a banquet . The circular contained a heavy list of business . There was a large gathering of brethren , Provincial Officers and others , amongst whom were Bros . J . Barker , Williamson ,
W . Nichols , & . A . Packwood , J . Corney , Councillor Holland , C . H . Wheeler , J . Young , Smith , Donohoe , Garside , Walter Lee I . P . M ., W . H . Fulford S . W ., A . Wooley J . W ., and the rest of the Officers . The W . M ., Bro . Pike , opened the bnsiness by initiating into the secrets and mystrries of ancient Freemasonry Mr . George Hackin , also two passings , the work of which he did in a truly masterly stylo , and he was warmly congratulated by the whole of the brethren present as to his efficiency , it being his first night in the
chair . The Immediate Past Master Bro . Walter Lee , and Bro . C . H . Wheeler , also took part iu the passings . After the loyal and patriotic toasts had been honoured in an enthusiastic manner , the toast of the newly-installed brother was proposed , after which Brother P . M . Young proposed the Worshipful Master , in highly eulogisti c terms . He asked the Worshipful Master to accept from the Past Musters aud Brethren of the Lodge a small token of their esteem , in the shape of a tea urn , enclosed in a glass shade , and a cruet , bearing the following inscription : " Presented to Bro . Thomas Pike , W . M . Zetland Lodge , 852 , by the brethreu , as a mark of esteem , on the occasion of his marriage , January 17 , 1888 . "
Bro . Pike thanked the brethren for their kind expressions towards himself and his wife , and also for the handsome articles that had been presented to him . Ho assured them that in the past he had endeavoured to filfil the duties of the office of W .
