Grove Lodge , No . 410 , Kingston , Surrey . —The regular meeting of this Lodge was held on Saturday last , at the Sun Hotel , Kingston , under the presidency of the W . M ., Bro . Charles Greenwood jun ., who was supported numerously by his Officers and tho members , and had the further hononr of being supported by Geueral Brownrigg , C . B ., Grand Master of the Province , the Rev . C . W .
Arnold P . G . C . Deputy Provinoial Grand Master , and his father , Bro . Charles Greenwood sen ., P . G . S . B . and Prov . G . S . Warden . The dnties of the day were comparatively light , and were , in the main , confined to the passing of Bro . J . Eustace Smith to the degree of Fellow Craft , the ceremony being most ably carried out by Bro . Greenwood . The brethren afterwards sat clown to a capital banquet .
which was excellently served , and at which the Worshipful Master presided with his accustomed geniality . The earlier toasts having been acknowledged by General Brownrigg , who expressed the satisfaction he had derived from attending the Lodge , Bro . the Rev . C . W . Arnold responded for the Provinoial Grand Officers , who , like himself , were most anxious to fulfil their duties . He had frequent
opportunities of visiting the Lodges in Surrey , and he confessed he was very proud of the manner in which they carried out their work . The health of the Worshipful Master was proposed , and received most cordially , and in returning thanks , Bro . Greenwood spoke very feelingly of the reception the toast had met with , and also , expressed his gratification at the references that had been made to his
father , and the hope that he should always have the strength to follow in his footsteps , and gain for himself the respect with which he was received on all occasions . The toast of the Visitors was aoknowledged by Bros . Jeffries W . M . St . John's Lodge , No . 795 , Maidenhead , Usher Back , Worshipful Master of the St . Michael's Lodge , No . 211 , Nye , of Brighton , W . W . Morgan Seo . 211 , & c , each and all of them
dilating upon the pleasure they had derived from the meeting . The toast of the Officers , & o . having been given and responded to , the brethren rose and separated . It remains to be added that the meeting did not pass without a reference to the chairmanship of General Brownrigg , at the approaching Festival of the R . M . B . I ., and it gives us the utmost pleasnre to state that Bro . Greenwood has expressed his intention of acting as Steward ou the occasion . That General
Brownrigg may rely with confidence on the hearty support of his Province is a proposition which , it is hardly necessary to lay before our readers in so many words j and Bro . Greenwood jun . ia to be complimented on having , at this early date , set so worthy an ex . ample to his brethren of the Province . The intervals between the toasts were enlivened by songs and recitations , which enhanced the pleasure of the gathering .
