A sum of £ 10 10-was voted to be placed on the list of B"o . Q . M . Brighten , who had consented to act as Steward at tho forthcoming Festival of the Boys' School . The Lodge was then olosed , and the brethron

adjourned to a banquet , served in their magnificent hall . After the nsual Loyal and Masonic toasts had been duly proposed and honoured , the health of the W . M . was given by P . M . Bro . Captain Helsham in felicitous terms , and suitably acknowledged . To the toast of "The Visitors , " Bro . J . H . Smith P . P . G . Chaplain of Essex , and Bro . Barton , No . 3 , vouirned thanks . "William Preston Lodge of Instruction , No . 768 . — This Lodge held its usual meeting on Friday , the 27 th of April , at the Feathers Tavern , Upppr George-street , Edgware-road . Present—Bros . Hayes W . M ., Hill S . W ., Godden J . W ., Braun Sec , Kennard Treas ., Tribbell S . D ., West J . D ., Harris I . G ., Chinnery candidate ; and Bros . Ridley , Risk , Allah , Sawyer , Jackson , March , Trimwell ,

Chipper , S . Nicholls , & o . The Lodge was opened in the first degree , and the minutes confirmed . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed by the W . M . Bro . Rudderforth Preceptor worked the first and second sections of this lecture , assisted by the brethren . Bro . Godden was elected W . M . for the ensuing Friday . A vote of thanks was

unanimously passed , and was ordered to be recorded on ' ¦ he minutes , for the able manner in whioh the W . M . performed tho duties of the chair for the first time . Tho Lodge was then closed in dne form . This prosperous Lodge , so recently formed , is most successful under the direction of the very intelligent and courteous Preceptor , Bro . Rudderforth J . W . of the Sampson Lodge .

W . M . for the ensuing week , and appointed his officers in rotation . We hope he will havo a good muster , as it will be the first time of his occupying the chair . He is a very young Mason , and has worked very hard to attain the position ; a treat is therefore in store for next Tuesday . The Lodge was closed in due form .

The object of this Chapter , in conjunction with the Blue Lodge , are for the especial benefit of tho Army and Navy stationed at the town of Port Royal .

Ayling , in thanking tho brethren for so valuable a gift , said he had only dono his dntv . It was a most pleasant and unexpected surprise , if ever it fell to his lot to be able to do more for the Lodge his services would be always at their command . Forty-three of tho brethren thon adjourned to the Royal Hotel , where the banquet was held , which was provided in excellent style . The usual Loyal and Masonio

The Tyler was called on jnst before 11 p . m . to do his duty , which terminated one of tho most successful Masonic gatherings that has ever been held in connection with this Lodge .

Upton Lodge of Instruction , No . 1227 . —Held at Bro . Bolton ' s , King and Queen , Norton Folgate , on Friday , 27 th April . Present—Bros . Powell VV . M ., Hill S . W ., Smith J . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed by

was opened , and the minutes confirmed . There being no business on tho agenda paper , the bye-laws were read , and the W . M . worked the first and second sections of tho lecture . The Lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to a very excellent supper . The W . M . gave the nsual Loyal and Masonio toasts .

Royal Standard Lodge of Instruction , No . 1298 . — This Lodge held its weekly meeting on Friday , 27 th of April , at the Castle Tavern , Holloway-road , N . Present—Bros . T . Cull Preceptor W . M ., J . W . Saul S . W ., S . D . Lee J . W ., P . Dickenson Sec , Eldridge Trea 3 ., Hunter I . G ., and about fifty brethren . Business—The Lodge being opened at 7 o ' clock in due form , the minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed . The Lodge was opened in the 2 nd aad 3 rd

degrees , and resnmed to the 1 st , when the Fifteen Sections were most ably worked . A cordial vote of thanks was accorded to the W . M . for presiding , which Bro . Cull acknowledged in suitable terms , and proposed a voto of thanks to the brethren who had assisted him . Bros . Lee and Davis were then unanimously elected honorary membe"S . Several brethren were elected members . The Lodge was closed and adjonrned to Friday , 4 th May , at 8 p . m .

A petition was read from the Montefiore Lodge respecting the non-admission of members of tho Hebrew faith in Germany , which received the unanimous support of the Lodge . Ayling , in thanking tho brethren for so valuable a gift , said he had only dono his dntv . It was a most pleasant and unexpected surprise , if ever it fell to his lot to be able to do more for the Lodge his services would be always at their command . Forty-three of tho brethren thon adjourned to the Royal Hotel , where the banquet was held , which was provided in excellent style . The usual Loyal and Masonio

The Tyler was called on jnst before 11 p . m . to do his duty , which terminated one of tho most successful Masonic gatherings that has ever been held in connection with this Lodge .

Upton Lodge of Instruction , No . 1227 . —Held at Bro . Bolton ' s , King and Queen , Norton Folgate , on Friday , 27 th April . Present—Bros . Powell VV . M ., Hill S . W ., Smith J . W ., Hewlett acting Preceptor , Kont S . D ., Hogarth J . D ., Lane I . G ., Townsend , Austin , Crouch , Pearcy , Bolton , & o . Lodge opened in dne form , minutes of last meetiug confirmed . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed by

tho W . M . in his usual able manner , Bro . Austin acting a 3 candidate . The first , second , and third sections of the leotare wero worked b y Bro . Hewlett , assisted by the brethren . Bro . Hill W . M . of 228 , and Bro . Hogarth 1107 , were duly elected members . Bro . Hill was elected W . M . for the ensuing week . Lodge was then olosed and adjourned .

Royal Standard Lodge , No . 1298 . —The regular meeting of this Lodge was held on Tuesday , the 1 st inst-, at the Wellington Clnb , Wellington-street , Islington . Bros . P . Dickenson W . M ., Do Metz as S . W ., Hunter J . W ., GladweU S . D ., Buderus J . D . The Lodgo

was opened , and the minutes confirmed . There being no business on tho agenda paper , the bye-laws were read , and the W . M . worked the first and second sections of tho lecture . The Lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to a very excellent supper . The W . M . gave the nsual Loyal and Masonio toasts .

Royal Standard Lodge of Instruction , No . 1298 . — This Lodge held its weekly meeting on Friday , 27 th of April , at the Castle Tavern , Holloway-road , N . Present—Bros . T . Cull Preceptor W . M ., J . W . Saul S . W ., S . D . Lee J . W ., P . Dickenson Sec , Eldridge Trea 3 ., Hunter I . G ., and about fifty brethren . Business—The Lodge being opened at 7 o ' clock in due form , the minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed . The Lodge was opened in the 2 nd aad 3 rd

degrees , and resnmed to the 1 st , when the Fifteen Sections were most ably worked . A cordial vote of thanks was accorded to the W . M . for presiding , which Bro . Cull acknowledged in suitable terms , and proposed a voto of thanks to the brethren who had assisted him . Bros . Lee and Davis were then unanimously elected honorary membe"S . Several brethren were elected members . The Lodge was closed and adjonrned to Friday , 4 th May , at 8 p . m .

W . M . Stiles Sec . lhe Lodge was opened , and the minutes confirmed . The ceremonies of passing and raising were rehearsed . The first , second , and third sections of the first lecture were worked by Bro . Adams Preceptor . All Masonic business being ended , the Lodgo was closed in due form .

Chaucer Lodge , No . 1540 . —The above Lodge met on tho 25 th April , at tho Bridge House Hotel , Southwark . Bro . J . C . Mason W . M ., E . S . Stidolph S . W ., W . J . Kemp J . W ., T . J . Sabine P . P . G . S . D . Middlesex Treas ., F . Walters P . M . P . G . J . D . Middlesex Sec , H . Faija C . E . J . D ., W . Laing P . M . Tyler , & c . The Lodge was opened , and tho -Minutes confirmed . Ballots were taken for tho admission of Messrs . F . Mayr , W . J . Harrison , and E . Ricardo , which proving unanimousl y

iu their favour , they were duly initiated . Bro . J . Simpson was passed o the 2 nd degree . A distressed brother was relieved from the Hiarity Fund . A petition was read from the Montefiore Lodge respecting the non-admission of members of tho Hebrew faith in Germany , which received the unanimous support of the Lodge . The Lodge was then closed , and tho brethren separated . There was no oanqnet . The Visitors were—Bros . W . C . Bland 574 , C . J . Rushworth W . M . 1309 , and D . Smith 1326 .
