Spice delivered the addresses . Bro . Bird was elected a member . The election of Officers for 1900 took place , with the result that Bro . George Spice W . M . 193 was unanimously elected Preceptor of the Lodge , Bro . Pitt was re-elected Secretary , and Bro . Baillie Assistant Secretary .

HAMMERSMITH LODGE , No . 2090 . ON Wednesday , 20 th ult ., at Wycombe House , Hammersmith , W ., Bros F . Cave W . M ., W . Youngsen S . W ., G . T . Meek J . W ., H . Warren acting Sec , W . Hillior P . M . Preceptor , Golby S . D ., C . Woods J . D ., W . H . Cave I . G ., W . Hide P . M ., J . H . Cumming P . M ., Scolding , Gale , and others . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Hyde taking the

candidate s place , after which the W . M . gave the charge in such a faultless manner as to call forth the approbation of every Brother present . Lodge was called off and on , when Bro . Scolding having been examined was entrusted , and the ceremony of passing was rehearsed . The Lodge was opened in the third degree and closed to the first .

Bro . Youngsen was unanimously elected to occupy the chair at the next meeting .

G ., Arthur Williams P . M ., W . Hide P . M ., J . H . Gumming P . M ., Chas . Pascall W . M . of the Mother Lodge , Byron , Hunt , & c . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Arthur Williams taking the place of candidate . The Lodge was called off and on . Bro . Hide was examined and entrusted , and the ceremony of passing was rehearsed .

Lodge was resumed to the first degree and Bro . Preceptor proposed that a vote of thanks be passed to Bro . Youngsen for the able way he had carried out the duties of the W . M . ' s chair for the first time in this or any other Lodge of Instruction . Bro . Golby was elected to act as W . M . at the next meeting . This being the last meeting of the year , the Brethren congratulated the Officers on the strides the Lodge was making .

M .-elect of the Hygeia Lodge , No . 2661 presided , with Bros . W . Parkinson S . W ., W . Newton J . W ., A . Darch P . M . Prec , C . Wetton P . M . Dep . Prec , Fred Holden P . M . Treas ., W . J . Newton Sec , B . Cohen S . D ., J . Bedman J . D ., H . Brown I . G ., O . Kemp I . P . M . 27 , Dr . F . J . Allen 1768 , J . B . Bedman 2000 , J . Wynman , & c

Dr . F . Allen P . M . 176 S , 0 . Kemp I . P . M . 27 , J . R . Redman 2000 , were elected members , which compliment was duly acknowledged by those Brethren . Bro . Sinclair P . M . ( late Secretary of the Lodge ) proposed that a hearty vote of thanks be recorded on the minutes for the valuable services rendered by the Officers of the Lodge during the past year , and trusted that the Great Architect of the Universe would give them health and strength to attend to their Masonic duties for many years to come . ROYAL ARCH .

PYTHAGORAS CHAPTER , No . 88 . THE half-yearly meeting of this Chapter was held at the Lion Hotel , Cambridge , on Thursday evening , 14 th ult ., when there was an unusually large attendance . The installation of Gomp . Chaplin as Z . was performed by Gomp . B . Chennell P . Z ., and the installation of Gomp . W . Sindall as J . by Gomp . Frank Piggott P . Z ., who consented to supply a vacancy in the second chair .

One joining Companion and three candidates were elected , and two of the candidates were exalted by Gomp . Chaplin . The work of the P . S . was ably performed by Gomp . 0 . H . Banham . The subsequent work by Principals was discharged by Comps . B . Chennell , F . Piggott , and W . P . Spalding . Notice was given in favour of voting twenty guineas to the Transvaal War Fund , and the First Principal elicited that there would be no opposition on the part of any then present . Comp . Chaplin presided at the banquet which followed , and submitted the customary toasts .

The members of the Domatic Lodge , No . 177 , will hold their installation meeting on Friday next , 12 th inst , at Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet Street , E . C ., on which occasion Bro . John Anleyjun . will be installed as Master in succession

to the present ruler Bro . William Hanes . The business will commence at 5 p . m . and will be followed by a banquet at 7 . The new Master will enter his office with a balance of nearly £ 100 in hand .

The regular meeting of the Upton Lodge , No . 1227 , will be held on Thursday next , at the Great Eastern Hotel , Liverpool Street . The meeting is called for 5 o ' clock , and

will be followed by supper at half pa 3 t seven . As usual at this popular Lodge there is a full agenda of business , including four candidates for initiation ( one already approved on the ballot ) , one for passing , and four for raising .

Bro . Edward Terry P . G . Treas . installed his successor in the chair of the Lodge , No . 2722 , which bears his name , and which met for the purpose on the 14 th ult ., at Barnes .

A Past Master ' s jewel , of beautiful design and workmanship , was presented our well known Brother , to commemorate his year of office .
