THE Quarterly Convocation of Supreme Grand Chapter was held on Wednesday , the 3 rd inst ., in the Templo of Freemasons' H < vll . In the absence of the Prince of Wales , tbe Earl of Lathom , the Earl of Mount Edgcumbe ,

and Comp . W . W . B . Beach , M . P ., the three Principals chairs were occupied by Comps . the Kev . H . Adair Pickard , M . A ., the Earl of Euston , and Col . G . Noel Money , C . B . There was a large number of Companions .

After Grand Chapter had been formally opened , and the usual preliminary business transacted , the Prince of Wales was declared fo be the Grand First Principal , after which tbe following Companions were appointed the Grand •Officers for the ensuing year : —

Area Chapters , and a charter was granted , authorising the members of the Jerusalem Chapter , No . 32 , Liverpool , to wear a centenary jewel , the Chapter having proved an

uninterrupted existence as a working Chapter of 100 years . The following resolution , framed by the Committee of General Purposes , was afterwards passed .

That , in Provinces and Districts numbering 15 Chapters and upwards , the Grand Superintendents shall be empowered to appoint annually two additional Provincial or District Grand Standard Bearers . In Provinces and Districts numbering 20 Chapters and upwards , the Grand Superintendents shall be

empowered to appoint two additional Provincial or District Grand Standard Bearers , and two additional Provincial and District Assistant Grand Directors of Ceremonies . In Provinces and Districts numbering 30 Chapters and onwards the Grand Superintendents shall be empowered to appoint a

Provincial or District Deputy Grand Registrar , a Provincial or District Deputy Grand Sword Bearer , two additional Provincial or District Grand Standard Bearer *? , and two additional Provincial or District Assistant Grand Directors of Ceremonies , aud that tha Grand Superintendents of Provinces

or Districts be empowered to appoint such Provincial or District Grand Chapter Officers at the first meeting for the annual appointment of Officers for tbe several Provincial and District Grand Chapters after the confirmation of the minutes of Grand Chapter . Subsequently , Comps . T . C . Walls , J . S . Cumberland H . Garrod , W . A . Scurrah , G . Fairckild , and M '

Slaughter were elected on the Committee of General Purposes , in addition to the Earl of Lathom , the Earl of Mount Edgcumbe , Comps . W . W . B . Beach , M . P ., Eobert Grey ( President ) , F . A . Philbrick , Q . C ., and Sir G . D . Harrisnominated by tho Prince of Wales .

1275—1 . That a Committee of Revision be appointed to examine the Ritoal of Royal Aroh Masonry , and to determine the relative positions , aud the correct interpretations of certain portions of tbe same .

2 . That the Committee be composed of the membera of the General Committee ; ono Representative from each Provincial Grand Chapter composed of twelve or more Chapters , two skilled Companions selected by the Committee , and the proposer and seconder of the above motion—seven fco form a quorum , wero rejected , after which Grand Chapter was closed .

— : o : — GRAND PRIORY OF LANCASHIRE .

A MEETHSTG of this Priory was held at the Guild Hall , Preston , on Thursday , 20 th April , nnder the banner of fche Prince of Peace Preceptory , No . 97 . The Knights having been arranged under their respective

banners , the Very Eminent Prior , Sir Knight Captain Clement Robert Nuttall Beswicke-Royds , with the Grand Officers , Officers , and Past Grand Officers entered the hall nnder the Arch of Steel , and the Priory was opened a

little before 2 p . m . The muster roll of the Preceptories of the Province waa called over by the Chancellor , when it was fonnd that all were represented , about 80 Knights being in attendance . The Very Eminent Prior and Eminent Sub-Prior , Captain Henry Thomas , were saluted in proper form , after which

the minutes of the Grand Priory holden at Liverpool on tbe 21 st April last year were read and confirmed , the report of the General Purposes Committee was received and adopted , and the accounts of the Treasurer wero passed . Sir Knig ht William Thomson , who has held the position of

Treasurer for a number of years , was re-elected , a result which gavo universal satisfaction . An Equerry was also elected . Upon the invitation of the Faith Preceptory , No . 41 , Wigan , that the next annual Priory should bo held there , it was decided , after a short discussion , and

announced by the Very Eminent Prior that their hospitality had been accepted , and that the next annual Priory wonld accordingly take place in this old Lancashire town . The Grand Prior appointed and invested his Officers for the ensuing year , as follow : —
