though on somewhat indefinite lines . Since then we havo learnt his full intent , and whatever there may have beon in his previous references to cause misgiving there is nothing in his after explanation to move us to any other feeliug towarda him bufc that of increased confidence and warmer regard . The Grand Master haa afforded us many
proofs of his strong attachment to the South Australian Constitution , and in tho act he contemplates we may find further evidence of a worthy desire to do that which he believes will be to ita greater advan . tage , regardless of any personal considerations . In abdicating his high oflico that another may reign in his stead , and resigning his
supremo authority , he is content to become tho subject where he might continue to retain the sovereignty . Certain it is that the appointment of a Freemason of eminent standing and repute in his own country as the illustrious representative of Her Moat Gracious
in this colony has influenced our Grand Master in the direction indicated , so that our prestige may be tho greater by intimate association with the highest in tho land and the delegate of royalty . If thia meant loss of our beloved brother from our ranks and withdrawal from
our Councils , in short , retirement in its fullest sense , we might well demur to such a proposition , as involving on hia part something too much of self denial and aacrifice , and ita expediency might well be called in question ; bufc , happily , such a step is not intended , and he will still remain with us , though in another capacity . As Pro Grand
Master , it is bis desire to serve us the same , and as such he will be tho real working head of tho Craft , the active principle of the combination . As Pro Grand Master ifc must be our duty and pleasure to accept him , if he so willa it . Hi 3 dignity will be none the less , and the honour to us the
greater . To our M . W . Brother His Honour S . J . Way we owe a large debt of gratitude , and aro likely to remain hia debtor , for hia services to the Constitution are beyond all adequate acknowledgment . Throughout the whole period of his Mastership he haa worked with us and for us with all his powers of mind and devoted energies , and iu every relation at all seasons we have ever found
him—The kindest man , The best conditioned and unwearied spirit , In doing courtesies .
We have been requested to state that the Tredegar Lodge of Instruction , No . 025 , held at the Wellington Arms , Wellington Road , Bow , does not adjourn during the summer months , and the brethren can always ensure a meeting each Thursday night , at 7 'JiO .
