He wonld do all he could to advance

the interests of the members . Short speeches were the order of the evening , and , under the circumstances , he would conclude by again heartily thanking the brethren , one and all , for the reception they had given him . Here Brother Heney favoured with a song , For the Visitors , Bros . Poore aud Lilley replied . In replying to the toast of the Installing Master , Bro . Taylor , after acknowledging tbe

shortcomings , which the brethren had graciously overlooked . The other toasts enstomary on these occasions were done full honour to , and able replies were elicited . Bro . T . Poore gave a popular selection from the works of Dickens . There were several other recitals , and the harmony of the evening was well sustained ; in this regard Bros . H . Mann , A . had long been bis earnest desire to become a Freemason , and he had now accomplished his wish . To speak metaphorically , he might say be had stepped on the first rung of the ladder , and he trusted he might be able to ascend to the top . The joining member also spoke , and thanked tho brethren for their recep tion of the toast . Bro . R . Baker I . P . M . then rose ; he had only to mention the name of the W . M . and

he knew how the toast would be received . They had seen how ex . cellently Bro . Myers had performed tho ceremonies , and how firml y ho upheld the dignity of the Lodge , while as a president he was second to none . The members would regret when bis year of office was over .
