At tho conclusion of tho ceremonies , tho subordinate Officers were invested , aud tho usual proclamations , salutations , and greetings observed . The proceedings wero closed with tho Ancient Benediction by tho installing principal . Wo regret to observe that

several exaltations wero of necessity posponed for want of time , ns the Craft Lodgo held its annual meeting in tho same room at three o ' clock . Wo wonld recommend that in future exaltations due should lie cleared off at a Chapter of Emergency held prior to tho annual convocation , as it is scarcely ever convenient to tako them on the samo day .

"Union Lodge , No . 129 , Kendal . —The annual meeting of this old and nourishing Lodgo was held at tho Lodgo rooms , Stramongato , ou Thursday , 30 th January , at three o ' clock in the afternoon . The W . M . Bro . Georgo McKay presided , and was assisted by Bros . John Batiks S . W . W . M . elect , Watson J . W ., John Bowes P . M . P . P . G . J . W ., John Holmo P . M ., P . P . G . J . W ., John Talbot P . M .

P . P . G . J . W ., T . Wilson P . M ., Hogg Sec , Nelson P . M ., Harrison , Theobald , Gooding , Baron , Taylor , Boll , Atkinson , Medcalf , Winder , and about fifty other brethren . The Lodge having been opened , and the minutes read aud confirmed . The approach at tho door of the Lodge of tho Deputy Grand Master of the Province , Colonel Whitwell M . P . was announced , and on that Worshipful Brother's entrance

ho was saluted as became his office and rank . The Lodge being opened in tho second degree , Bro . John Banks W . M . elect was presented for tho benefit of installation , and the ceremony was ably performed by Bro . McKay , who opened aud closed the Board of Installed Masters , assisted by Bros . Bowes aud Nelson . All the newly invested Officers wore placed iu their respective situations , and their j « wels

and duties fully explained by Bro . John Bowes , who also presented tho working tools of tho three degrees to the W . M . At the conclusion of the ceremony tho Lodgo was closed , and the brethren adjourned to the Commercial Hotel for tho banquet . Tho newly installed AV . M . Bro . John Banks presided , and was supported on tho right by tho Deputy Grand Master , Bros . McKay , Titus Wilson , Hogg , & c , and on the left by Bros . John Bowes , Holme , Talbot ,

Wilson , & c . The company numbered over fifty . Grace after meat having been said by Bro . the Rev . H . Chaplain , tho usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , and a most agreeable evening was spent . Wo are glad to bo able to congratulate this old Lodge on its increasing viiality . It has always borne a good name for correct working , and now thero is a goodly company of efficient Past Masters ever ready to afford instruction to the members iu the lower degrees .
