& o . The Lodgo was opened in the first degree , minutes of previous meeting read and confirmed . Bro . VVade offered himself as candidate , and tho ceremony of initiation was rehearsed . Tho first , second and third sections wore worked . The S . VV . was elected WM for ensuing week . Bro . Saul Preceptor was unanimously elected an honorary member of tho Lodgo .

Sir Hugh Myddelton Lodge of Instruction , No . 1602 . —A meeting was held on Tuesday , 28 th January , at the Crown and AVoolpack , St . John-street-road . Present—Bros . Crosbie AV . M ., Hallam jun . S . W ., Pelikan J . W ., Osborn Sec , Godolphin S . D ., Hirst J . D ., Millington I . G . ; E . G . Sim , Trewinnard , AVood , Isaacs , and seveial other brethren . Bro . Godolphin , a candidate for raising , answered the questions satisfactorily , was entrusted , and

tho ceremony was rehearsed . The Lodge was resumed to tho first degree . The sum of five guineas was voted by the Lodgo to Bro . Morris's ( of the Mother Lodge ) list , who will act as Steward at tho Festival of the R . M . B . I . on the 12 th February . Bro . Hallam jun . was elected W . M . for next Lodge meeting . On Tuesday , tho 1 th instant , the ceremony of installation was rehearsed by Bro . Halford .

Hotspur Lodge , No . 1626 . —Tho Installation meeting of this young Lodge took placo on tho 23 rd nit ., at tho Masonic Hall , Maplestreet , Nowcastlo-on-Tyne , the W . M . elect , Bro . Dr . Luke Armstrong S . W ., was duly installed by Bro . VV . S . Hughes P . M ., and he afterwards appointed his Officers . Tho brethren then dined together at tho Turk's Head Hotel , Guy-street . Wo aro unable to give a full report , ns our representative in Newcastlo-ou-Tyno did not receive any notification of tho meeting .

Wolsey Lodge , No . 1656 , Hampton wick—A very successful meeting of this Lodgo took place on Monday last , at the White Hart Hotel . The Lodge being opened , Messrs . Ellis and Gerhold woro initiated , and Bro . Drummond was raised . Tho Rev . Bro . F . J . C . de Crespigny was unanimously elected VV . M ., Bro . A . Nuthall re-elected Treasurer , and Bro . J . Gilbert elected Tyler . To Bro .

AVm . Hammond , who has held the office of Master for the past two years , a P . M . 's jewel was most heartily voted , and he was highly and deservedly complimented on his excellent rendering of the beautiful ceremonies of tho Order , and the great success that has , through his efforts , attended the Lodge during its two years' existence . The day of meeting has been altered from the 1 st to tho 2 nd Monday in tho

months of February , March , November , and December . The installation of Bro . tho Rev . F . J . C . do Crespigny will take placo on Monday , 10 th March , and , in order to save time , there will be , probably , an " emergency" held on Saturday , 8 th March . After tho closing of tho Lodge , tho brethren adjourned to the supper-room . The usual Loyal aud Masonic toasts wero brielly given , and the

who was ably supported by his Officers , all of whom are energetic in Masonry , and aro well known in Loudon Lodges of Instruction . Tho Lodge being closed , the brethren sat down to a plain but substantial supper , provided by Bro . Fysh , in his usual satisfactory manner . The regular toasts were proposed and duly honoured . Several brethren

contributed to the enjoyment of the evening by somo excellent songs and recitations , and the brethren separated , after having enjoyed a very pleasant evening . AVo may hero note that the W . M ., Bro . A . H . Trewinnard , will act as Steward at the Festival for the Benevolent Institntion ; the brethren present contributed liberally to his list , which wo hope will be a handsome one .

degree . After the usual formularies , Bro . tho Rev . II . G . Henderson was duly entrusted with the distinguishing budge of a Master Mason , the ceremony being most impressively wcrked by the W . M . and his Officers . Bros . Tidball , Thrower , and Drysdalo wero thon duly passed . Mr . AV . J . Stevens was balloted for , and afterwards initiated into the ancient mysteries of the Order , the work boing admirably

dono . Bro . W . H . Brand , No . 1521 , was elected a member of tho Lodge . Other business was also transacted , and a snm of £ 10 was voted to tho funds of tho Eoyal Masonio Benevolent Institution , Bro . W . Beasley having undertaken to serve the office of Steward at the forthcoming Anniversary Festival . Tho W . M . then proceeded to invest Bro . the Eev . H . G . Henderson Avith the collar and jewel of

Chaplain of tho Lodge , and Bro . G . 0 . Young , who had previously beon appointed Organist , was now likewise formally invested . The Lodgo having been duly closed , tho brethren retired from labour to refreshment , which was served by Bro . Grist in his usual excellent manner . Tho usual Loyal and Masonic toasts wero duly honoured ,

Bro . the Eov . II . G . Henderson warmly acknowledging the kindly spirit and excellent working of tho Worshipful Master , and tho Visitors expressing high approval the conduct of tho Master and his Officers , as well as at the unanimity which appeared to exist amongst tho whole of the brethren . The meeting was altogether of a very satisfactory character , and this new Lodgo is evidently making progress .

Royal Hanover Lodge , No . 1777 . —An emergency meet , ing of this Lodge was held at tho Town Hall , Jlonnslow , on Saturday last , when thero wero present Bros . II . A Dubois P . Prov . S . G . D . Dubois ) was indisposed , but managed to get through tho ceremonies in his usual style , except the passing , which was very kindly taken by Bro . J . W . Baldwin P . M . After discussing

some business matters , tho Lodge was closed . The next regular meeting will bo on the 22 nd of March . The brethren partook of refreshment , when the usual toasts wero honoured , that of tho R . W . Prov . Grand Master ( Col . F . Burdett ) and tho Provincial Grand Officers being ably responded to by Bro . J , AV . Baldwin P . Prov . G . P ., and the parly separated at an early hour .

Peace and Harmony Lodge , Southampton . —20 th January , being the festival of St . John , of the Peaco and Harmony Lodge , there w as a numerous attendance of tho brethren and visitors at tho Masonic Hall , Bugle-street , Southampton , to witness the installation of tho VV . M . Elect , Bro . T . Lashmore , when tho ceremony

degree . After the usual formularies , Bro . tho Rev . II . G . Henderson was duly entrusted with the distinguishing budge of a Master Mason , the ceremony being most impressively wcrked by the W . M . and his Officers . Bros . Tidball , Thrower , and Drysdalo wero thon duly passed . Mr . AV . J . Stevens was balloted for , and afterwards initiated into the ancient mysteries of the Order , the work boing admirably

dono . Bro . W . H . Brand , No . 1521 , was elected a member of tho Lodge . Other business was also transacted , and a snm of £ 10 was voted to tho funds of tho Eoyal Masonio Benevolent Institution , Bro . W . Beasley having undertaken to serve the office of Steward at the forthcoming Anniversary Festival . Tho W . M . then proceeded to invest Bro . the Eev . H . G . Henderson Avith the collar and jewel of

Chaplain of tho Lodge , and Bro . G . 0 . Young , who had previously beon appointed Organist , was now likewise formally invested . The Lodgo having been duly closed , tho brethren retired from labour to refreshment , which was served by Bro . Grist in his usual excellent manner . Tho usual Loyal and Masonic toasts wero duly honoured ,

Bro . the Eov . II . G . Henderson warmly acknowledging the kindly spirit and excellent working of tho Worshipful Master , and tho Visitors expressing high approval the conduct of tho Master and his Officers , as well as at the unanimity which appeared to exist amongst tho whole of the brethren . The meeting was altogether of a very satisfactory character , and this new Lodgo is evidently making progress .

Prov . Grand Master ( Col . F . Burdett ) and tho Provincial Grand Officers being ably responded to by Bro . J , AV . Baldwin P . Prov . G . P ., and the parly separated at an early hour .
