< , f initiating Mr . Walter Adams , who previously had been liullotted for . Two propositions for initiation wero handed iu to tho Secretary , and two for joining . After heart y good wishes had been given , the Lodge was closed , and tho brethren tut down to a very excellent banquet aud dessert , provided b y Bro . W . Gosden . The usual Loyal and Masonio toasts wero honoured .

Bro . L . Beck proposed the toast of tho W . M ., who , ho was sure , would havo all thoir good wishes . He wished him a happy New Year , and a successful one in his office . Tho W . M . having replied to tho toast , proposed that of the newly initiated brethren . He was proud to seo them , and to drink tho toast as it merited ; they wero Li'iitlomen who ho waa sure would be a credit to tho Order . Bros .

Adams , Carthew , and Bocket severally returned thanks for the toast . Tho W . M . then proposed the toast of tho Visitors , Bro . H . M , Levy P . 31 . 188 retti ruing thanks . The W . M . complimented the Treasurer and Secretary . No bett ' or Officers could havo been selected in any Lodge . Their talents wero recognised throughout the Craft . The former Brother is a P . M . and Secretary of an influential Lodge , tho

St . James a Union , and hia ability is there fully recognised . Bro . Jicok was their first W . M ., and as a Grand Officer of Middlesex he is entitled to their respect . Bro . Louis Beck responded . It was tha first opportunity he had had of returning thanks a 3 Treasurer ; ln > was gratified at tho confidence tho brethren reposed in him ; his services were always at their disposal . Bro . Parsons said he felt
