Union Lodge carried this banner with Washington through tbe Revolutionary War , and planted it at Marietta , Ohio . 20 th July 1773 , the first Provincial Grand Lodge of America was organized , at the Bunch of Grapes Tavern ,

Bcston , by Henry Price . 1 st March 1786 , eleven Masons mot at the same tavern and organized the Ohio Company , viz .: Ruins Putnam , Benjamin Tupper Past Master , John Patterson Past Master , Manasseh Cutler , Winthrop

Sargent , John Mills , Crocker Sampson , Jelaliel Woodbridge , John Brooks , Abraham Williams , and Thomas Cnssing . At a meeting of the Ohio Company , at Brackett ' s

Tavern , Boston , 21 st November 1788 , five Masons wero appointed surveyors , to lay out the City of Marietta into oblong squares , ninety by one hundred and eighty feet , with a centre street one hundred and fifty feet wide .
