The W . M . worked the 1 st and 2 nd sections of the lecture , assisted by the brethren . The ceremony of Initiation was rehearsed by the W . M . in his usual impressive manner , Bro . W ., Hallar S . D ., Cay J . D ., Gieberman I . G ., and Bros . Eudderforth , Hollands Preceptor , Daniel Hon . Sec ., Lees , Ellis , Maidwell , Eicharda , Powell , Browne , Hill . & c . The Lodge was opened in due form . The

ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Lees candidate . The 1 st section of the lecture was worked by Bro . Ellis , assisted by the brethren . Bro . Eich vacated the chair in favour of Bro . Daniel . Bro . Maidwell answered the questions leading to the 2 nd degree and was entrusted . Tho Lodge was opened in the 2 nd , aud Bro . Maidwell

Wheeler , with Wm . Hordeu as S . W ., C . Lindsay J . W ., J . Balfonr Sec , J . Bannerman T ., when the following six Master Masons were duly advanced , viz ., Bros . John McGhie , A . Sherriff ,

George Johnson , James Cammeron , and Thos . F . Monck , all of Lodge . 233 Hamilton , and Jas . Hunter of -JIG St . John , Duziel , Motherwell . A Lodgo of Most Excellent Masters was then opened , with the same officers , assisted by 3 rd Captain of the Veil , and tho same gentlemen were duly instructed by Comp . Wheeler , who then opened tho E . A . Chapter , J . Balfonr P . G . S . E . acting as H ., G .

McDonald P . G . 3 rd S . as J ., J . Bannerman Treas ., Wm . Hoy 1 st S ., Wm . McMurray 2 nd S ., and J . Pent 3 rd S ., when the same six brethren were duly exalted . Comp . Wheeler congratulated Comp . Wm . Hoy , the new 1 st Sojourner , ou tho excellent way he had performed his duties , it being the first time ho had essayed the part , and he being only a young Arch Mason .

St . Mark's Lodge , No . 102 . —Held its regular meeting in their own Hall , 210 Buchanan-street , Glasgow , on Monday , 2 Gth February . Bros . J . Thompson E . W . M ., J . 0 . Smith I . P . M ., T . Halket P . M ., E . Jameson S . M ., A . Neil S . W ., A . 0 . Patterson Treasurer , Wm . Martin

Secretary . Bro . Halket P . M . conferred the E . A . degree on Bros . J , Fergerson , A . McDoopal and E . Watson . A Lodge of Mark Masters ( in accordance with Grand Lodge laws ) was then opened , with J . Thompson as M . M . M ., Wm . Fergerson S . W . and E . Jameson J . W ., when Bro . T . Halket conferred the degree on ten brethren .

Union and Crown Lodge , No . 103 . —Met at 30 Hopestreet , and was tumerously attended by about 80 of the members . Bro . D . Murray R . W . M ., A . Mnir Wright I . P . M ., E . Munro D . M ., Wm . Thomas S . W ., W . Forsyth J . W ., T . Gilles Secretary . A discussion with respect to increasing the annual fees resulted in the

fact of three motions being carried , the Secretary protesting against the legality of the decision . £ o was then voted to the widow of a fate member . Bro . A . Mnir Wright then passed seven brethren to the Fellow Craft degree , after which Bro . A . Bain P . M . raised eight brethren to tho sublime degree .

Panmure Mark Lodge , No . 130 .-The regular meeting of this Ledge was hold at the Balham Hotel , Balham , on Monday , 5 th March . Although not so numerously attended as is usual with this Lodge , there was a goodly muster of brethren . The Lodgo was presided over , in the unavoidable absence of the W . M ., by V . W . Bro . James Stevens P . G . O ., the founder and senior P . M ., who was supported by a full staff of officers . Bros . E . Mitchell , of No , 720 .

Sincerity Lodge of Instruction , No . 174 . —This Lodge met at Bro . Seaton ' s , Bailwav Tavern , Fenchurch-street , on Monday , 5 th inst . Bros . F . Brown W . M ., W . Frasor S . W ., Billiard W . M . 174 J . W ., Hill W . M ., United Strength , S . D ., Webb J . D ., J . S . Eraser I . G ., Ellis Secretary . Business—The W . M . worked the ceremony of initiation , Bro . A . H . Brown candidate . Bro . Ellis worked the first section

of the lecture , and Bro . Webb the second aud third , assisted by tho brethren . Eesolved that the office of Preceptor of this Lodge of In . atmction be declared vacant , and that Bro . P . M . Austin 933 bo invited to accept the office . This he kindly consented to do , stating that he had no intention or wish for the office , but after the very flattering

compliments that had been paid to him , and as the brethren had so decidedly expressed their wish to him to be their Preceptor , he could not refuse . The votes of the Lodge were given to Bro . P . M . Lacey , to assist the case of the child of the late Bro . Goddin . All Masonio business being ended , the Lodge waa closed in due form .

Lodge of Joppa , No . 188 . —The regular meeting of this Lodge , held on Monday , the 5 th inst ., afc the Albion , Aldersgate . street , was numerously attended . The W . M . ( Bro . L . Lazarus ) occupied the chair . Bros . J . Miller S . W ., M . Spiegel J . W ., L , Auerhaan Treas ., E . P . Albert G . P . See ., A . J . Campion J . D ., E . Baker I . G ., H . P . Isaac D . C , and Past Masters Bros . A . G . Dodson

I . P . M ., L . Alexander , L . Hickman , H . M . Levy , H . Berkowitz Chaplain , I . Abrahams , 0 . Eoberfcs . The Lodge having been opened and the minutes confirmed , Bros . Osborne , Lentzbnrg , Althorp , and Blanks were passed , and Bros . Wilenske and Buck were raised . Both these ceremonies were perfectly and impressively rendered by the W . M ., every officer being equally perfect . A letter and petition

were read from the Montefiore Lodge , No . 1017 , with respect to the non-admission of members of the Hebrew faith in the three Grand Lodges in Germany . Bro . Harris proposed , and Bro . H . Berkowitz P . M . and Chaplain seconded , That the letter and petition be referred to tho committee appointed by the Lodge for that purpose . Bro . Davis P . M . 147 , Birmingham , by permisssion of the W . M ., addressed

the Lodge in reference to the question . He said that the E . W . Lord Leigh , P . G . M . of Warwickshire , together with every Lodge in hia Province , had given their cordial support , as had also several others . A sum of £ 5 5 s was voted to be placed on tho list of Bro . Israel Abrahams P . M ., who represents the Lodgo at the Boys' Festival to be held in June next . One candidate was proposed for initiation ,

after which tho Lodgo was closed until the 12 th of April , in lieu of the first Monday in the month , that being Bank Holiday . After the banquet , the W . M . proposed the " Queen ancl the Craft . " The National Anthem was sung by Miss Alma Yorke , Miss Blanche Grosvenor , Messrs . F . Brough and Trenton . H . E . H . tho Prince of Wales , M . W . G . M ., was then given , and received with great enthusiasm ,

and Miss Alma Yorke sang " Ihe beauty of my own heart . " Tho W . M . then proposed the Earl of Carnarvon , the E . W . the Earl of Skelmorsdaleand the rest of the Grand Officers , coupling with tho toast the name of Bro . E . P . Albert P . M . Mr . Prenton then sang " Homeward Bound . " Bro . E . P . Albert G . P . returned thanks . He hoped to see at the next meeting of Grand Lodge many of those now around him , to

do honour on that auspicious occasion , it being the election of the M . W . G . M . Tho W . M . theu proposed what he considered was the particular toast of the evening , "Their Benevolent Fund . " Ho would say that this Lodge was the first that instituted a Benevolent Fund , and it had now reached the sum of £ 1 , 250 . ( Cheers . ) He would call on Bro . Louis Alexander P . M . and President to respond to

the toast . Miss Blanch Grosvenor then sang " Looking Back , " which was loudly applauded and deservedly encored . Bro . Louis Alexander , P . M . and President of the Benevolent Fund , spoko of its origin . It was established for the purpose of assisting members of their own Lodgo , without their having to apply to Grand Lodge . They had had many applications , and had given many snms of

£ 100 each . The brethren gave so liberally that they were then in a better position than last year . Bro . A . G . Dodson rose , and said he had to propose the toast of the W . M . They had seen how he had performed his duties , which , he was sure , had been dono to their satisfaction . Mr . Frank Brough then sang " My sweetheart when aboy , " after which the W . M . replied . He was pleased with the remarks

of the I . P . M . —it was a labour of love , and he hoped thoy were satisfied with tho manner he had conducted the duties of tho chair , ( Cheers . ) Ho had a toast , which was one that was always received with acclamation ; it was that of tho Visitors . They wero always pleased to seo them . Bro . F . Binckes P . G . S . returned thanks . lie was then suffering from a severe cold . It was many years since he

had visited tho Lodge , and the Visitors had always found an honest and hearty welcome . He was sure that was tho feeling of every visitor . He felt a pride in listening to the words of the Piesident of the Benevolent Fund , and he hoped every Lodgo would f ' o'low such a good example . He was pleased to see Bros . White and Cotterell from Aldershot . He would be sorry to monopolise their time in prolonging his remarks . He spoke of the great work done'b y Bro .

Constable , and hoped he would do some wonderful work in the way of his books . If every brother present would give Bro . Constable a shilling , thoy would soon see what good it would do . Bro . Constable followed in a very excellent speech . He hoped to got £ l , O 0 Q for the Boys ; as much good can be obtained by shilling tickets as b y larger contributions . He was followed by Bros . Osborne , Lentzbnrg , Althorp , and Blanks were passed , and Bros . Wilenske and Buck were raised . Both these ceremonies were perfectly and impressively rendered by the W . M ., every officer being equally perfect . A letter and petition

were read from the Montefiore Lodge , No . 1017 , with respect to the non-admission of members of the Hebrew faith in the three Grand Lodges in Germany . Bro . Harris proposed , and Bro . H . Berkowitz P . M . and Chaplain seconded , That the letter and petition be referred to tho committee appointed by the Lodge for that purpose . Bro . Davis P . M . 147 , Birmingham , by permisssion of the W . M ., addressed

the Lodge in reference to the question . He said that the E . W . Lord Leigh , P . G . M . of Warwickshire , together with every Lodge in hia Province , had given their cordial support , as had also several others . A sum of £ 5 5 s was voted to be placed on tho list of Bro . Israel Abrahams P . M ., who represents the Lodgo at the Boys' Festival to be held in June next . One candidate was proposed for initiation ,

after which tho Lodgo was closed until the 12 th of April , in lieu of the first Monday in the month , that being Bank Holiday . After the banquet , the W . M . proposed the " Queen ancl the Craft . " The National Anthem was sung by Miss Alma Yorke , Miss Blanche Grosvenor , Messrs . F . Brough and Trenton . H . E . H . tho Prince of Wales , M . W . G . M ., was then given , and received with great enthusiasm ,

and Miss Alma Yorke sang " Ihe beauty of my own heart . " Tho W . M . then proposed the Earl of Carnarvon , the E . W . the Earl of Skelmorsdaleand the rest of the Grand Officers , coupling with tho toast the name of Bro . E . P . Albert P . M . Mr . Prenton then sang " Homeward Bound . " Bro . E . P . Albert G . P . returned thanks . He hoped to see at the next meeting of Grand Lodge many of those now around him , to

do honour on that auspicious occasion , it being the election of the M . W . G . M . Tho W . M . theu proposed what he considered was the particular toast of the evening , "Their Benevolent Fund . " Ho would say that this Lodge was the first that instituted a Benevolent Fund , and it had now reached the sum of £ 1 , 250 . ( Cheers . ) He would call on Bro . Louis Alexander P . M . and President to respond to

the toast . Miss Blanch Grosvenor then sang " Looking Back , " which was loudly applauded and deservedly encored . Bro . Louis Alexander , P . M . and President of the Benevolent Fund , spoko of its origin . It was established for the purpose of assisting members of their own Lodgo , without their having to apply to Grand Lodge . They had had many applications , and had given many snms of

£ 100 each . The brethren gave so liberally that they were then in a better position than last year . Bro . A . G . Dodson rose , and said he had to propose the toast of the W . M . They had seen how he had performed his duties , which , he was sure , had been dono to their satisfaction . Mr . Frank Brough then sang " My sweetheart when aboy , " after which the W . M . replied . He was pleased with the remarks

of the I . P . M . —it was a labour of love , and he hoped thoy were satisfied with tho manner he had conducted the duties of tho chair , ( Cheers . ) Ho had a toast , which was one that was always received with acclamation ; it was that of tho Visitors . They wero always pleased to seo them . Bro . F . Binckes P . G . S . returned thanks . lie was then suffering from a severe cold . It was many years since he

had visited tho Lodge , and the Visitors had always found an honest and hearty welcome . He was sure that was tho feeling of every visitor . He felt a pride in listening to the words of the Piesident of the Benevolent Fund , and he hoped every Lodgo would f ' o'low such a good example . He was pleased to see Bros . White and Cotterell from Aldershot . He would be sorry to monopolise their time in prolonging his remarks . He spoke of the great work done'b y Bro .

Constable , and hoped he would do some wonderful work in the way of his books . If every brother present would give Bro . Constable a shilling , thoy would soon see what good it would do . Bro . Constable followed in a very excellent speech . He hoped to got £ l , O 0 Q for the Boys ; as much good can be obtained by shilling tickets as b y larger contributions . He was followed by Bros .
