The results of the Cambridge Local Examinations in December last have been issued , and from them we learn that of the twenty girls entered , nineteen are returned as successful , the only failure having been caused

by the illness of the candidate . In the senior examination two ex-pupils , Miss S . M . Morrish and Miss A . W . Cecil , tunnl teachers , passed in Class III . honours ; in the junior

examination Jane M . Taylor and Ellen Senior obtained Glass II . honours , both being distinguished in religious knowledge . Class III . honours were conferred npon F . Oberdoerffer ( distinguished in religious knowledge and

French ) , Ada C . Crow , Grace Bartrum , and Emily Mabel Osmond . The following passed : —Juliet Priestley and Josephine March ( both distinguished in religious knowledge ) , Susannah Tippler , Ada Ellen Ashton , Frances J . New , Sophia Riley , Helen Foxall , Clara E . Coales , Emily A . Cecil , Beatrice King , and Mary E . Spalding

The Head Master of the Boys' School , Bro . the Rev . R . Morris , has presented a report of the Cambridge Local Examination last Christmas , which is satisfactory , seven boys having received honours and two passed , whilst there was no single instance of failure . In the First Class ( II . Division ) honours were gained by A . D . Ashdown , distinguished for Mathematics , and A . J . Kennedy ,

presided . After the formal reading of mmutes , two petitions were submitted and received , and the names ordered to be placed on the list for the October election . The motion passed at the previous meeting , proposing an

increase of £ 26 per annum to the salary of Mr . Reilly , Clerk in the Office , Freemasons'Hall , was unanimously confirmed , and the meeting was brought to a close with a vote of thanks to the Chairman .

Since our last issue some of the outstanding lists in aid of the funds of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution have come in , though the number is nofc yefc complete .

Five guineas have been added to the list of Bro . 0 . H . McQueen , making his total £ 26 15 s 6 d . Bro . Reginald Maples , of Lodge 574 , in the Province of Berks and Bucks ,

has remitted another two guineas , raising his total to £ 18 18 s . An additional five guineas has been placed to the account of Comp . Colonel J . Chairman and Board of Stewards , for their valuable and successful services on the occasion , was read , and received with applause . A similar vote of thanks was accorded to the officers of the Board , and suitably acknowledged . It was further agreed thafc a resolution of thanks be forwarded

to Bro . Madell , the esteemed manager of Freemasons ' Tavern , for the excellence of the arrangements made by him for the comfort and enjoyment of the unprecedented number of Brethren who attended the Festival , and that intimation of the same be conveyed to Messrs . Spiers and Pond .

HOHO * WAI ' OINTMENT AND PIUS . —Diseases of Women . —Medical science in all ages lias been directed to alleviate the many maladies incident to females , but Professor Holloway , by diligent study and attentive observation , was in- ' duced to believe that nature had provided a remedy for those special diseases . He haa , after vast research , succeeded in compounding thoso celebrated Pills and nci

Ointment , -which embody the priple naturally designed for the relief and cure of disorders peculiar to -women of all ages , and constitutions , whether residing in warm or cold climates . They have repeatedly corrected disordered functions which havo defied the nsual drugs prescribed for such cases ; and still more satisfactory is it that the malady is relieved completely and ' permanently .

The Great Pyramid And Freemasonry.

It is intended that the Exhibition shall be confined to members of Lodges in fche counties of Devon and Cornwall , or to exhibits relating thereto , the object being to discover and

describe all the varieties and curiosities in the neighbourhood , the catalogue of which will be edited by Brother Hughan . Success is confidently anticipated by the

promoters of the Exhibition , and we are requested to say that intending exhibitors may communicate with Brother John B . Gover , the Hon . Secretary , of 5 Granville Place , Plymouth . We shall probably say something further

respecting the movement next week . On the occasion of her recent marriage , a handsome presentation was made to the eldest daughter of Brother the Rev . C . J . Martyn , Deputy Provincial Grand Master of Suffolk . In' acknowledging the compliment paid to his

The Theatres, &C.

THE THEATRES , & c .

— : o : — Royalty . —Two more amusing pieces than are being acted at this Theatre ifc will be hard to find , and , judging from a recent visit we paid , theatre goers have already recognized this ; not only waa

there a good " house , " but the company seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves , and who could wonder afc this , when Alice Atherton and Willie Edouin bave a piece like " The Coming Clown " to create amusement with , written especially for them by Mr . Mark Melford . The work is full of clever lines , and thoroughly suited to fche abilities of those it was written for . Then we have Mr . Ernest

Warren's clever adaptation of " Le Bonheur Conjugal , " here called " Modern Wives . " Again the clever artistes mentioned above are well suited , and are well backed by Messrs . Morton Selten , Lytton Sothern , and the Misses Brunton , Olga Brandon , and Eva Wilson . Indeed , with this clever company everything goes merrily . The Eoyalty afc the present time cau boast of having " full boards " frequently oat . This success is thoroughly deserved .

Grand . —The sporting drama , "A Bun of Luck , " has for the lasfc fortnight been delighting the patrons of this theatre , and from all appearances will continue to do so while the present company is located here , which , by the way , is until Saturday next , the 19 th instant . The scenery , with its numerous changes , is excellent ,

while the wonderful effects displayed afc " Old Drury" are reproduced . Tho squire ' s honse wifch the real hunt , the lawn at Goodwood , and lasfc of all tho race for the Stewards' Cup , are shown with realistic effect ; in short the piece is as well staged as when it was originally produced . A more winning Daisy Copsley could not

be wished for than Miss Lncy Buckstone , while Miss Mabel Coates was excellent as Mabel Selby . Mr . Fred Gould ( Harry Copsley ) , Mr . Lawrence Gray ( George Selby ) , and Mr . J . Dewhurst ( Squire Selby ) , well sustain their respective impersonations . Mr . Lawrence D'Orsey as Captain Trevor was well suited , but Mr . Edward Cheesman rather overdid the part of Charlie Sandown .

In consequence of the increasing popularity of the Wednesday matinees at the Olympic they will be continued until 30 th March , when " Frou-Frou " will be presented . Miss Hawthorne commences a week ' s engagement afc Brighton on Monday , 21 sfc March , where she will appear in a selection of characters from her extensive re . perfcoirs .
