LODGE OF INTEGRITY , No . 163 . BEING the penultimate month of the financial year , the meeting of 27 th December , held at the Freemasons'Hall , Manchester , was occupied chiefly in the election of Officers . Eor Worshipful Master the ballot was in favour of Bro . J . M . H . Blarney S . W . ; Bro . J . M . Sinclair P . M . P . P . J . G . D . was again chosen as Treasurer ; Bro . H . H . Warburton P . M . P . P . G . D . as Charity Eepresentative ; whilst Bros . E . Alf . Hepvvorth J . W . and A . Dunn were appointed

Auditors . A committee was also appointed to arrange for the festival of St . John to be held in January . Bro . Warburton moved , and Bro . Sinclair seconded , " That a sum of fifty pounds be granted from the funds of the Lodge in aid of the East Lancashire Systematic Masonio Educational and Benevolent Institution . " which was carried .

At the festive board which followed , Bro . John Studd P . M . P . P . D . of „ C , proposed the health of Bro . Blarney W . M .-elect , he stated that nine years ago he had proposed him as a member of the Lodge of Integrity , and during that time Bro . Blarney had justified every expectation formed of him .

Bro . Eichard Simister P . M ., in proposing the health of the W . M ., reverted to the admirable speech which Bro . Scholfield had made upon the day of his installation , characterising it as a masterpiece ; the various matters there enunciated had been faithfully carried out ; the ceremonies had always been performed in a manner which had commanded admiration , and in submitting the toast of his health , he hoped they would receive it in a manner which would convince Bro . Scholfield that they meant it .

The W . M . in reply , said it was with feelings of a somewhat conflicting character tnat he rose to address the brethren that evening , inasmuch as it was the last time when , as W . M ., he would be enabled to respond ; and yet he felt a sort of relief that the responsibilities of office were nearly over . No one rose for the last time without a feeling of sadness , but this feeling in his case was

mitigated by the great kindness he had received on every hand . He was very fortunate in the fact that he had been present at every meeting during his term of office . Since his installation the Lodge had been increased by ten members : five initiates and five joining brethren , but he had previously expressed himself to the effect that success did not always depend upon an acquisition of numbers , but

was mainly attributable to the harmony and good feeling which existed among the brethren . He congratulated himself upon the possession of good Officers , whose collective merit had not been excelled in any Lodge . He had often noted the way in which Bro . Blarney filled a greater portion of the Senior Warden ' s chair , and he had invested the position which he held with solidity , weight , and dignity . Of Bro . Hepworth J . W ., and other Officers , he also

spoke in flattering terms , the Past Masters ( especially Bro . Simister ) coming in for a fair share of euloguim , for they had performed work which had advanced the Lodge . He trusted that the season of the year at which they had arrived , and which commemorated peace and good feeling upon earth , would bring them every blessing of life , and sincerely hoped that when meeting a brother they might always do to him as they would wish him under similar circumstances to do to them .

Other toasts followed , which were diversified by songs , recitations , etc ., given by Bros . C . Slee , Beever , Sparkes , Eitzsimmons , Mead , B . Williams , and E . Eoberts . Besides those already mentioned there were present : Bros . T . G . Sparkes I . P . M ., J . Wildgooso P . M . P . P . J . G . D ., Ben Williams P . M .,

D . D . Macpherson P . M ., Saml . Gaskill Secy ., John W . Sparkes S . D ., Prank W . Mee J . D ., Fred Walmsleyl . G ., J . G . Mead Org ., Ed . Eoberts P . M . Asst . Prov . G . T . fTlHE installation festival of this ancient Lodge took place at the X Freemasons' Hall , Great Queen Street , W . C , when Bro . F . J . Street was duly installed in the chair of the Lodge which he will rule for the ensuing twelve months . The ceremony was ably performed by Bros . W . H . Brownswood and W . C . Parsons . The following Officers were appointed : —J . B . Miners S . W ., J . Taylor J . W ., E . Bateman Treas ., W . C . Parsons Sec , E . Faring D . C , Green S . D ., Whitehead J . D ., Stewart I .
