Lord Valetta , tbe Provincial Graud Master of Oxfordshire aud Berkshire , was present , and there was a good attendance of brethren , both in Lodge and subsequently at tho banquet . The annnal meeting in connection with Belfast Masonic Chainties , which took place in the Ulster Hall , on the 6 th inst ., under the patronage of the Most Honourable the Marquis of Hertford Provincial Grand Master was , we are pleased to be able to state , even more successful than this

interesting event has hitherto been . The attendance wa « very large , and the performance of the musical programme was of a most enjoyable character . Of the excellence of the work , with which local Masonic enterprise must be accredited , it is scarcely necessary to speak . Its

importance has long been recognised , not merely in the Northern province , but throughout all Ireland . The members of the ancient Order have , during the past year , shown themselves to be as warmly actuated as ever by the true spirit of benevolence which has for so long been associated with Freemasonry .

Amongst the candidates for a seat on the Board of Management of the Girls' School is Bro . George Gardner , whose Masonic services may be briefly recapitulated , as under : — Bro . George Garduer is a Vice-Patron of tbe Boys' School and Old People ' s Institution , and a Vice-Presidont of the Girls' School . He

was initiated in the Domatic Lodge , No . 177 , aud at the present time is the Junior Doneon of that Lodg >> . In tho oarly part of 1883 he conceived tho idea of founding a Lt . dge in tho neii / hboii'liood where ho resides . In duo course this Lndge , Chiswick , No . 2012 , was consecrated , by the lute Bro . Col . S . If . Clerke , on lfith Novomher of tbdt year , and this Lodge has hud a marked success throughout its otueei .

Bro . Gardner was its third Master , and during his year of office hud the honour of receiving into his Lodge , in addition to 20 others , Bro . the Right Hon . Lord Georgo Hamilton , M . P . On Bro . Gardner ' s retirement from tho chair , ihe thanks of the brethren were presented to him , and the document was engrossed on vellum , in recognitiou of his services as Steward for the Lodge , when he took up tho handsome

sum of 475 guineas to thn Masonio Institutions . He has evr * r since strenuously as-i-ted our Charities , and is now serving hiR eighteenth StHwardohip , while up to ttie present time he has paid into their coffers at least £ 3000 . During the year Bro . Loid George Hamilton served as Grand Senior Grand Warden of England , Bro . Gardner induced Lord Georga to proffer his services as Chairman at the

Festival for our Boys School , and Bro . Gardner was electsd by tbo Stewards of that year as their Treasurer . He has served on the Board of General Purposes for two years in succession , and is always to be seen at the respective elections , exerting himself strenuously on behalf of a distressed brother , his widow , or offspring . In 1889 a Lodge was founded at Datchet , No . 2309 , in the Province of Berka

and Bucks ; of this Lodge he is the father , and a further honour w > a conferred upon him by tbe founders calling the Lodge The George Gardner . On the division of the united Province of Berks and Bucks , he was made Grand Sword Bearer of the latter Province . At the Chiswick Lodge of Instruction he has always shown much energy , and has been its Treasurer since its formation , in 1884 , while to the

Benevolent Associations attached thereto he haB rendered goodly help . Ho has been Secretary of the Chiswick Lodge for the last fivo years . Bro . Gardner is a member of tbe Correspondence Circle of the Quatuor Coronati Lodge , No . 2076 . In addition , he is a P . Z . of the Kennington Chapter , in which he was exalted , and has filled eaoh office in succession . He was advanced to the Mark in the Thistle , No . 8 , and here he is at present J . O . He founded the Chiswick Mark

Lodge , No . 357 , in 1885 , and while filling the ohair was promoted to the post of Grand Director of Ceremonies of the Province of Middle . sex and Surrey . He has held the position of Treasurer of this Lodge for the last four years , and has recently been re-elected for the onsning year . He holds the high position of Grand Standard Bearer of England , and has served two Stewardships , and is a Life Governor of the Mark Benevolent Fund . To many other charities he is also a genarous subscriber .

In 1889 a Lodge was founded at Datchet , No . 2309 , in the Province of Berka

and Bucks ; of this Lodge he is the father , and a further honour w > a conferred upon him by tbe founders calling the Lodge The George Gardner . On the division of the united Province of Berks and Bucks , he was made Grand Sword Bearer of the latter Province . At the Chiswick Lodge of Instruction he has always shown much energy , and has been its Treasurer since its formation , in 1884 , while to the

Benevolent Associations attached thereto he haB rendered goodly help . Ho has been Secretary of the Chiswick Lodge for the last fivo years . Bro . Gardner is a member of tbe Correspondence Circle of the Quatuor Coronati Lodge , No . 2076 . In addition , he is a P . Z . of the Kennington Chapter , in which he was exalted , and has filled eaoh office in succession . He was advanced to the Mark in the Thistle , No . 8 , and here he is at present J . O . He founded the Chiswick Mark

Lodge , No . 357 , in 1885 , and while filling the ohair was promoted to the post of Grand Director of Ceremonies of the Province of Middle . sex and Surrey . He has held the position of Treasurer of this Lodge for the last four years , and has recently been re-elected for the onsning year . He holds the high position of Grand Standard Bearer of England , and has served two Stewardships , and is a Life Governor of the Mark Benevolent Fund . To many other charities he is also a genarous subscriber .
