Some twenty toasts were proposed and responded to in a very hearty and harmonious manner , with musical honours , and the company did not disperse until the wee small hours of morning . The approach to the Lodge was brilliant with gas illuminations , one of which was " Welcome " in letters more than a foot long .
Royal Lodge , No . 207 . —At the ordinary meeting of this Lodge , held in Kingston , on Monday , the 6 th June last , the Brethren presented the V . Wor . G . J . Sargeant , on tbe eve of his departure for England , with an address beautifully engrossed on parchment , and afterwards entertained him at a farewell banquet , at which several distinguished members of the Craft were present . The following are copies of the Address and Reply .

At the last meeting of the Royal Lodge , No . 207 , Prov . No . 1 , the members unanimously resolved that , on the eve of your departure from Jamaica , an address be presented to you expressive of their deep regret at the severance of your Masonio connection with them , and of their regard aud esteem for you .
The duty of preparing that document having been entrusted to us , we beg onbebalf of the Lodge to express to you how deeply we all feel the parting which will soon take place . Tour relations with the members of tbe Lodge have always been characterised by such good feeling and attention to the desires , and
kind and courteous appreciation of the acts of the brethren , that yon have endeared yourself to us all . We look back with much satisfaction to your year of office as Master of the Lodge , and we can never forget yonr happy and successful rule over ns and the many opportunities which we then had of
knowing and appreciating yonr worth as a Mason , and as a friend , ever ready to listen to and counsel all with whom you had Masonio intercourse . We embrace this opportunity of publicly recognising the valuable setviceB which you rendered to the Lodge whilst yon occupied the
Master ' s chair , which were recorded in the minntes ( attached thereto ) on the occasion of presentation of a Past Master ' s jewel ; but even since yon retired from that exalted position , your services have always been cheerfully and readily at the disposal of the members ; aud this has been to ns an earnest of your zeal for the welfare of the
Lodge , which we desire gratefully to acknowledge . We beg that yon will accept and convey to Mrs . Sargeant and the other members of your family an expression of our hope that T . G . A . O . T . U . will watch over you all in your journey through life , and abundantly bless and prosper yon and yours .

Extracts from Minutes referred to in Address . 5 th May 1879 . —It was unanimously agreed to , " That a suitable testimonial be procured and presented by this Lodge to the Wor . G . J . Sargeant LP . Master , as a mark of appreciation of the services
rendered thereto , the ability , skill , and kindness with which he ruled , and the consequent harmony that existed therein during his administration ; also as a token of the esteem and regard in which he is held by the brethren .
"That a Committee , with full powers , be appointed to carry out the intention of this resolution . 3 rd May 1880 . — " Bro . E . X . Leon here brought to the notice of the Lodge the resolution passed at the last installation meeting , with respect to the presentation of a testimonial to the Wor . Bro .
Sargeant , and placed in the hands of the Wor . Master the testimonial for the purpose . The Lodge having agreed to this , the Wor . Master ( Bro . G . M . Duff ) addressed the Wor . Bro . Sargeant , and presented the testimonial , consisting of a Past Master ' s jewel . The Wor . Bro . Sargeant accepted the same , add returned thanks in grateful and pleasing terms . "

It speaks of the satisfaction you feel at my conduct during my year of office as Master of this my mother Lodge , and at my general deportmen t with the brethren , both in and out of the Lode ^ H rnom .
A . y . endeavoured to do , during my past Masonic career , what I beheveto be my duty to Masonry in general , and this Lodge in particular , yet at the same time I feel that the high enlogiom contained in your address is b y no means merited by me . Suffice it to sav , while on * bia part of tbe subject , that if yon are satisfied with my hnmble ™ v , avour 8 > ifc ia t 0 me a source of gratification . Leon in the honourable position he occupies as Master of this Lodge , whilst to him it must be a source of pleasure to find himself placed by the suffrages of his Brethren in that honoured
place which his father before him occupied in other Lodges . Looking around me I find brethren occupying positions in the present administration , to which by their assidaity and general deportment they are entitled . I am therefore satisfied that at the end of their term of office , they will deliver np their jewels with credit to themselves and profit to the Lodgo , whose best interests lie closest to
their hearts . For yonr kind wishes towards my wife and family , loannot express too muoh gratitude . Brethren , I must now take an affectionate farewell of you all in Lodge assembled . May He who inspired the principles of

of the last meeting having been read and confirmed , the accounts of the Provincial Grand Mark Lodge were produced by the auditors , and showed a small balance in hand . Bro . Loveland was nnanimonsl y re-elected Provincial Grand Treasurer for the ensuing year ; and the W . M . 's of Lodges 125 and 140 were elected asa committee to audit the P . G . Treasurer ' s accounts . The Provincial Grand Secretary read the
list of the returns from Lodges of the Province , and these Were ordered to be entered on the minutes . The P . G . M . gave a summary of the reports of the general Board , presented in November and May last . The P . G . M ., alluding to the gratifying meeting in oonneotion with the Mark Benevolent Fund on the previous day , drew special attention to the Educational Scheme , and invited some of tbe brethren
to become Stewards at the next Festival . A sura of five gnineaB was voted to tbe Fund , and Bro . A . L . Emanuel announced that he would take the office of Steward of this Province at the next Festival . The following brethren were then appointed and invested as Provincial Grand Officers : —Bros . W .
