M . elect , " said it was not often that so young a member of tho Lodgo had so far qualified himself . Their future W . M . wa ' -t eminently qualified to fill tho chair , He felt a pride in proposing tho toast that had fallen to his lot foi
two consecutive years . Thoy had worked in Freemasonry together , and he was sure ho was ono who would carry ont every duty to their satisfaction . Bro . Annett suitably responded , and thanked Bro . Bros . Loewenstark S . W ., Walker J . W ., J . K . Pitt Sec , Constable P . M . Treas ., Fenner S . D ., Lay J . D ., Staley T . G ., K . Gottheil P . M . Preceptor , James Stevens P . M ., and an average number of regular
attendants . Tho principal business of tho evening consisted of tho rehearsal of tho ssoond degree , Bro . I . P . Cohen acting as candidate . The first section of the Lecture was then worked by Bro . Constable , assisted by tho brethren . The nowlandlord of this tavern having informed the Lodge that unless a foo of half a guinea pui meeting was paid it would not answer his purpose to allow the ttso
of the room , this Lodgo will bo compelled to remove . The now quarters havo not as yet been fixed upon , and until then tho meetings will tako place as usual . Bro . M . D . Loewenstark having been elected AV . M . for tho ensuing week intends to rehearse the third ceremony . After which Bro . G . B . Abbott will give the second of tho series of Lectures commenced on the 29 th November . The largo room will
again be secured , for the greater convenience of tho numerous brethren who attended on the former occasion , and who are no doubt anxious to hear tho sequel to the interesting account of Masonic doings in years gene by . Brethren desirous of acquiring a knowledge of Masonic history should attend , and they will find their time has not been spent nnnrofitably .

held the chair for the past two years , carries with him , on his retirement from office , tho best wishes of the brethren , to whom he has endeared himself by his general urbanity and courtesy , as well as by the efficient manner in which ho has carried on tho duties of the Lodge . We are glad to hear that it is the intention of tho Lodge to
present him with tho Charity Jewel , in recognition of his having twice represented tho Lodge at the annual festivals during his term of office , as well as the many other services which Captain Perkins has rendered , not only to tho Lodge in general , but to its members in particular .

The report of the auditors showed that during tho past year nearly £ fiO had been paid off tho expenses of fitting up thoir new hall . The R . W . M . then said as he , as well as tho I . P . M . of tho Lodge , had both been proposed for tho office of Master , ho would ask Bro . G . W .
Wheeler to preside ; and with the assistance of the other R . W . M . and P . M . ' s present , conduct tho whole of tho elections , as they had two candidates for nearly every office . Bro . Wheeler having taken tho chair , the ballot showed a majority of two votes in favour of Bro . David Read , the I . P . M . In most cases , the contest was very close . In tho case of the Treasurer , it resulted in a tie ,

Wheeler having taken tho chair , the ballot showed a majority of two votes in favour of Bro . David Read , the I . P . M . In most cases , the contest was very close . In tho case of the Treasurer , it resulted in a tie ,
