Bro . Gantlett was passed to tho degree of a F . C . The Lodge again resumed to the first degree , and a ballot was taken for Mr . John Shillton , which proved unanimous in his favour , and he , being in attendance , was * initiated in the ancient mysteries . Tho Lodgo then closed , and the brethren separated . This was the first meeting siuce the installation , and tho working of the three degrees by the W . M . was faultless . Dufchie aud his friends , not ouly for coming so raauy miles to re-open their Chapter , and instal its officers , but also for the excellent specimens of work they had shown them . Comps , McLeish and McGregor proposed that the four members of tho deputation from
Glasgow should be made honorary members , and Comp . Jardiue proceeded to affliliate them . Comps . Dnthie and Wheeler suitably acknowledged the honour paid to them , and expressed themselves proud to be able to forward the cause of Royal Arch Masonry . The Chapter was then closed , all being highly pleased with the result of the evening's labours , which , we trust , will give a new impetus to the Order in Dumbartonshire .

It was a source of great gratification to hoar from those Companions the deserved encomiums on the perfect working of tho Chapter , more particularly that portion of
the ceremony , so seldom given , that found on this occasion so ablo an exponent in Comp . J . Boyd . The several officers returned thanks , and expressed tho gratification they had received iu the Chapter . The M . E . Z . then said ho had a very importaut toast to propose , and that was , that of the P . Z . ' s . This Chapter was but young , but those Com pan ions wore the real pillars , for they upheld tho Lodge , and
every office required of them , they were not only able , bnt also willing to fulfil ; he mentioned the services rendered to the Chapter by Comp . J . Boyd , in various capacities , II . Dicketts I .
