The Boys' School Election
and wo trust that , long before the next election comes off * we shall be able to announce that it is in full working order and ready to act on behalf of the most deserving London candidates . We know—wo have it , indeed , on record—that when two well-known East London brethren have adopted a
case , they have invariably carried it through ; and if two have done so , an organisation composed of representatives from several Lodges ought certainly to be in a position to ensure tho success of any candidate whose case they may have
seen reason to adopt . We offer those remarks in the hope and belief that our London friends mav become more inclined to look after their own interests . We do not desire that London should swamp tho Provinces , but that it should secure the proportion of success to which it is entitled .
Herewith is the complete list of candidates , both succes sful and unsuccessful , with all needful particulars as to votes .

SWIMMING . To the Editor of THE FREEMASON ' S CHRONICLE . DEAR Sin AND BROTHER , —I have read with great interest tha correspondence under above heading in your valuable paper , from which I assume that swimming is not practised by " Our Boys" at Wood Green . That bathing is a healthy exercise no one can deny , nor can it
be disputed that many persons of both sexes aro drowned yearly whoso lives would in all probability have been spared had thoy acquired the art of swimming in their youth . Unless boys and girls are encouraged to learn to swim during their school days , I fear that very many of them will never attempt it , and if this is tho case may I ask how it is swimming is not practised more at our public schools ?
One of your correspondents remarks that our Boys' School ia singularly fortunate in being situate within a few minutes' walk of excellent open air baths ; I shonld certainly be glad to know if tho School regulations prohibit so healthy and useful a pastime , or if it is the always to be dreaded difficulty—" the means , "—if so , I believe it only requires to bo known amongst tho brethren of tho Craft to have it removed forthwith . Yours fraternally , ONE or NEXT YEAR ' S STEWARDS ,
DISPOSAL OF LODGE FUNDS . To the Editor of In ? , FREEMASON ' S CHRONICLE . DEAK SIR , —I should be glad to be informed if it is regular and . constitutional that the W . M . of a new Lodge should use the general fund of the same for payment of the cost of founders' jewels , such funds being composed of money received from initiates . Yours , & o . W . M .
" PECULIAR . " To the Editor of THE FREEMASON ' S CHRONICLE . DEAR SIR AND BROTHER , —There were 17 , 728 votes issued to the subscribers to the Masonic Girls' School at the election on Saturday
last . 17 , 928 votes were recorded , besides over a hundred spoilt votes , aud doubtless many not made use of . Where can the extra votes have come from ? I am , Dear Sir and Brother , Yours fraternally , WM . 0 . PARSONS P . M . 180 ,
