REPORTS OF MEETINGS .

We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonic meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative , to report Lodge or other proceedings .

INSTALLATIONS .

— : o : — LODGE OP INDUSTRY , No . 48 , GATESHEAD . Installation of Brother Joseph T . Pragnell . THE annual meeting was held on the 26 th ult ., at the Masonic Hall , Jackson Street , Gateshead , there being a large attendance of members and visiting Brethren . Bro . Joseph T . Pragnell S . W . was installed W . M . for the ensuing twelvemonths , the ceremony being ably performed by Bro . John Armstrong W . M .

Subsequently the annual festival was held at the Eoyal Hotel , Prince Consort Eoad , an excellent dinner being provided by Bro . Twibell , the manager .

ST . JOHN LODGE , Wo . 1306 . Installation of Brother John BarriiF . THE installation meeting was held on Wednesday , 4 th inst ., at the Guildhall Tavern , E . G ., Bro . Jas . Beard W . M . being in the chair , and being well supported by members and visitors . Lodge being opened , a ballot was taken for Mr . Frederick George Jary , and proved unanimous in his favour . He being in attendance was duly initiated into the Order .

The Auditors' report was next received , which proved the Lodge to be in good financial condition , the Auditors all agreeing that the accounts , etc ., of the Lodge were well kept , and reflected credit upon the Secretary Bro . J . G . Twinn P . M . The W . M . now vacated the chair in favour of Bro . J . Oxley P . M ., who proceeded with the installation ceremony , installing

Bro . John Barriff J . W . into the chair . The newly installed W . M . then appointed his Officers , as follow : —Bros , G . Olley S . W ., E . P . Staples J . W ., J . Magrath P . M . Treasurer , J . G . Twinn P . M . Secretary , J . H . Magrath S . D ., G . W . Danson J . D ., G . Spencer I . G ., E . C . Blow , W . Imber and E . S . Eatcliffe Stewards , J . Taylor P . M . Tyler .

Bro . Oxley P . M . addressed the Master , Wardens , and Brethren , and the installation ceremony was brought to a close in regular order . The W . M . then presented to Bro . J . Beard I . P . M . the jewel that had been voted to him by the Lodge , mentioning that this was one of the first pleasing duties of a new Master . He wished Bro . Beard health and long life to wear it . Bro . Beard suitably responded .

A Committee was formed to revise the bye-laws , some of them having become obsolete , and others requiring amendment . A deal of routine business was gone through , and the Lodge was closed , the Brethren adjourning to the banquet hall , where , under the personal superintendence of Bro . Wells , an excellent banquet was served .

The usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured , interspersed with an excellent musical programme , arranged by Bro . Sam Waller . Amongst those who assisted were Master Sam Waller , a young gentleman in khaki , of nine years , who sang " Under the same old flag "; Bro . Harry Hawkes , who gave " When father laid the carpet on the stairs , " and " All for the

sake of Einnigan "; Bro . W . T . Dawson , " Shipmates" ; Mr . John Manley , " When love steps in" ; Bro . Sam Waller , recitation , " Wait a week or two , " all of which were highly appreciated ; also a fine piano solo , "Imps' Revels , " by Bro . W . T . Dawson , who , it may be mentioned , accompanied the vocalists with great skill .

BRONDESBT 7 RY LODGE , No . 2698 . Installation of Bro . Edwin George . THE installation meeting was held on Wednesday , 11 th inst ., at the Earl Derby , High Eoad , Kilburn , the Worshipful Master Bro . A . E . Hardyment presiding . There was a large attendance of members of the Lodge and visitors .

As the installation of the new Worshipful Master was the only work to be performed , the chairs of the Senior and Junior Wardens were occupied by Bro . James Stephens P . D . G . D . C . as S . W ., and Bro . Walter Hancock P . M . 2191 as J . W . Bro . Alfred Eusby I . P . M . 2511 acted as Inner Guard . Bro . Hardyment

W . M . installed Bro . Edwin George P . M . 1489 , who had acted as the Secretary of the Lodge from its commencement ; and had been unanimously elected . Bro . Campbell P . M ., the Lodge ' s first Master , acted as Director of Ceremonies . Bro . Hardyment

was invested as the Immediate Past Master , and was complimented by Bro . Edwin George on the admirable manner in which he had discharged the duties of Master during the past year . Mendelssohn ' s anthem , " Be thou faithful / ' was beautifully rendered by Bro . James Gawthrop , at the request of the W . M .

The Auditors' report , the reception of which was carried on the motion of Bro . Hardyment P . M ., seconded by Bro . Campbell P . M ., showed a balance of £ 63 17 s 9 d in favour of the Lodge . The Lodge was then closed , and the Brethren adjourned to banquet .

Between the toasts a charming musical programme was presented , under the direction of Bro . J . Gawthrop P . M . 1706 . Bro . James Stephens , responding to the toast of the Grand

Officers present and past , alluded to the part he played in the formation of the Lodge , and said he was delighted that the Lodge had such a good balance after discharging Masonic duties by subscribing to the Masonic Institutions .

Bro . Hardyment gave the toast of the Worshipful Master , and Bro . Edwin George responded , assuring the _ Brethren he would take in the Brondesbury Lodge as much interest as he had shown with respect to his old Lodge , the Marquess of Bipon , No . 14 b 9 .

The W . M . gave the Installing Master and the Past Masters , presenting Bro . Hardyment with a handsome jewel . of a Past Master , and also a Past Master ' s collar . Bro . Hardyment duly acknowledged the toast and the handsome gifts , and said that as

an old member of the Walpole Lodge , No . 1500 , Norwich , he was going to represent that Lodge as a Steward at the forthcoming Festival of the Eoyal Masonic Institution for Girls . He asked the assistance of the Brethren on that occasion .

An enlarged photograph of the first Worshipful Master Bro . E . J . Campbell , executed by Bro . Harold Coxen , was presented by that Brother to the Lodge .

HENRY COOK CHAPTER , No . 1021 . Installation of Companion R . C . Turner . THE twelfth anniversary of the Consecration of this flourishing Chapter took place at the Masonic Hall , Abbey Eoad , Barrow-in-Eurness , on Tuesday , 27 th ult ., when a large and influential gathering took place , under the presidency of Comp . A . Brown Z . The installation of the Principals and Officers for the ensuing year was conducted by Comp . Dr . J . Murray , and the addresses

delivered by Comp . Henry Cook . The following are the new Officers : —E . C . Turner Z ., Captain W . A . Main H ., Alfred Brown I . P . Z . J ., S . M . S . Townsend Treasurer , J . P . Williams S . E ., H . G . Wright S . N ., J . McDougal P . S ., E . Heseltine and Eobert

Newton Assistant Sojrs ., R . W . Worrall D . C ., J . Artis Janitor . At the conclusion of the installation the outgoing Z . was presented with a very handsome P . Z . jewel , as a token of esteem from the Companions . Also Comp . J . F . Davison was presented with a beautiful Treasurer's jewel , to mark the Companions ' appreciation of his services previous to leaving Barrow .

Business over , the Companions sat down to a substantial banquet in their own rooms , provided by the Steward of the Hall , which gave universal satisfaction . The usual toasts were honoured .

The only regret the Companions had was the absence of Comp . Captain W . A . Main , Active Service Company 1 st King ' s Own Volunteer Battalion Eoyal Lancaster Eegiment , now on his way to South Africa .

— : o : — ST . MICHAEL LODGE , No . 211 . A VEBY pleasing incident occurred at the last meeting of this Lodge , held at the Albion , Aldersgate Street , B . C ., on the 10 th inst ., when a Past Treasurer ' s jewel was presented by the members to Bro . Alfred Green P . M ., who , in addition to being the father of the Lodge , held the position of Treasurer for many years . Bro , Green was compelled to resign the Office in
