From the Drill Hall the brethren , in full Masonio clothing , proceeded to the Parish Church , whioh was filled by a large congregation .

There was a shortened form of evening service , with a sermon by the Rov . J . Grant Bird Provincial Grand Chaplain , and at it 3 termination the procession was again formed , the surpliced choir , a considerable number of olergy , and several gentlemen connected with the village churoh and schools , joining it , and a brass band leading tho way to the school site . The site being reached , the Rev . E . Bate ? , rector ,

explained to the acting Provincial Grand Master that tho new building waa to be a substitute , educationally , for tho sohool church established some years ago by Mr . Geo . Fox , now of Elmhnrst II ill , Staffordshire , in memory of bis wife , in order to meet tho demand for increased school accommodation in the locality . Mr . W . Cobbett , on behalf of the Building Committee , presented Sir Horatio Lloyd with a

silver trowel , as a memento of the day ' s ceremony , and in appreciation of his kindness and that of his fellow Masons . The elaborate ceremonial prescribed by Grand Lodge was then conducted , under tho direotion of Bro . Browne , and the stone was proved and declared to he well and truly laid , with accompanying flourishes of trumpets , and was solemnly dedicated by the acting Depnty Provinoial Grand

Master , with vocal responses from a Masonic ohoir . Bro . E . B . Lingard Monk , Provinoial Grand Warden of Kent , proposed , and Mr . H . Boddington seconded , a vote of thanks to Sir Horatio Lloyd and Provinoial Grand Lodge for their attendance , and this being passed tbe proceedings ended with the return of the brethren to tho village .

The Immediate Past Wardens and the Registrar of last year wero , on tho nomination of the Deputy Provincial Grand Mastor , elected for tho Audit Committee for 1891 . Broa . W . H . Lee , Maplo , and Carter were appointod by the Provincial Grand Master , aud Bros . Dr . Riley , Frost ,

Creswick , and J . Tickle wero elected members of the Charity Committee . The Provincial Grand Master then said tho brethren would excuse him for introducing a question whioh was nob upon tho agenda . He was confident that every brother would have the greatest pleasure

and gratification with what he was about to do . They had been acquainted and know the duty performed by their lato Provincial Grand Secretary , Bro . Woodward , than whom no brother had performed tbe duties in a raoro efficient , more satisfactory , or more genial mannor . Bro .

Woodward came into the Province at a critical time , but he had a good system of organisation , and it was soon in a different position ; he would now , in tho namo of tho Province and those around him , present Bro . Woodward with a testimonial in appreciation of his services ; and he had

further gratification in being able to state that they should be able to present Mrs . Woodward with some mark of their appreciation of her husband ' s services . Bro . J . F . H . Woodward was perfectly at a loss for words to express what he felt . The Provincial Grand Master had spoken

in far too flattering terms of any service , he had rendered the Province . He ( Bro . Woodward ) had entered upon tho work of Provincial Grand Sccrotary at a very important period in the history of tho Province , viz ., one month before the now Book of Constitutions came

into force . That involved a large amount of work , for which ho was responsible . He would indeed have been ungrateful for tho great confidence reposed in him if be had not done his utmost to bring tbo by-laws of tho Lodges and Chapters into perfect agreement with the new

Book of Constitntions . It was a pleasure and an honour to serve under one so beloved and respected as Sir Francis Burdett . He must tako that opportunity of thanking tho Deputy Provincial Grand Master Bro . Thrupp , and Brother

W . H . Lee tho Assistant Provincial Grand Secretary , as also tho Secretaries of tbo Lodges and Scribes of tho Chapter ? , for the great assistance I hey had rendered him in bringing his work to a successful couolusion . Tho text of the illuminated address was , as follows : —

during which time he brought its affairs into perfect order and to a most successful condition , beg his acceptance of a gold watoh aud chain , trusting that he may be endowed with long life and health to use this memento of the fraternal affection of the donors .

address , a gold watch and chain , and a bracelet and locket for Mrs . Woodward . The sum of' 30 guineas was voted to tho R . M . I , for Girls , and 15 guineas each to the Boys ' and tbo Royal Masonic Benevolent Institutions . A sum of £ 13 was voted for the purposes of placing a memorial

on behalf of the Province in ono of the lights in tho windows in tho Centenary Hall of the R . M . I , for Girls . Tho roll of Lodges was then called . All , with the exception of the Elthorne aud Middlesex Lodge , No . 20 D-J-, were represented . A hearty vote of thanks wa 3 accorded

to tho Committee who carried out the arrangements for the meeting , which was acknowledged by Bro . Adams P . G . S . B . ; and to the lato Prov . Graud Treasurer , Brother Carter , for his services during the past year . Letters ot

apology for non-attendance wero announced from a Iai'g number of brethren . This completing the business Provincial Grand Lodgo was closed . After banquet tho Loyal toasts were heartily received .
