The labour * of tho evening being ended , Bro . Broreton received tho hearty good wishes of the Visitors , and the Lodge was closed with

eo-Iemn prayer . Tho brethren adjourned to oanqnet , which was provided by Bro . Swift , of tho Black Lion Hotel . On tho removal of tho cloth , the W . M . proposed tho usual toasts . Master Smith favoured the brethren with a solo on tho violin , accompanied by Bro . Humphreys on tho piano , much to the enjoyment of all . Tho W . M . said ho would save timo by placing toasts Nos . 4 and 5 in one .

Every brother knew how dearly thoir Prov . G . M . Sir Watkin W . Wyuu loved the Craft , aud the great interest he took in the welfaro of tho Province , ho knew that tho brethren of North Wales aud Shropshire revered him in return for his many noble virtues . Tho Deputy Prov . G . M . Bro . W . Bulkeley Hughes was also justly esteemed for the many proofs he hud given of his love to

Freemasonry . He vegrottcd that his ill health prevented him from participating more iu the affairs of the Province . The Prov . G . O . past aud present had , aud do discharge thoir duties to tho utmost of their abilities . They had two in the Sir Watkin Lodge . Bro . Lewis sang a solo , dedicated to the Provincial Chief . Bro . Salmon , on behalf of fche Province , thanked tho Worshipful Master for tho

kindness evinced towards the Officers of Prov . Grand Lodge . Ho was happy to say tho Province of North Wales was beginning to bo looked upon as ono of tho foremost Provinces under tho Grand Lodge of England , its future prosperity was sure if nofc striking . Bro . Corbott also returned thanks , and uw a yonu ^ fledged Prov . Officer , he promised to do his utmost . Bro . Salmon proposed the

toast of tho evening . Years ago Bro . Broreton acted very generousl y in allowing Bro . H . Lloyd to work up to the Chair which he was outitled to occupy . Oa a later occasion the W . M . had the privilege of attaining tho position ho now fills , but again he gave way . He was pleased to see him now occupy thu chair he has so many claims to , aud should bo happy to aid him to the utmost . The

W . M . iu reply said , —Brethreu , I need uot to tell you that I feel very grateful for the high compliment paid me by Bro . Salmon , and 1 am very thankful for the marks of approbation which the toast has received from you all . Your reception of tho toast just proposed givei mo strength to go ouaud endeavour to discharge the duties devolving upon me in this exalted office , which it has pleased you to honour

mo with . I find already that the duties of Master are more difficult to discharge than wo may bo led to anticipate , but I r . ely on your kiud support and co-operation , by which means I shall acquit myself to tho satisfaction of the Lodge . Bro » . Adams and Lewis gave an amusing duet , after which tho W . M , proposed the health of the Installing Master . He considered it no easy matter to carry out fche

ceremony , but to discharge ifc as ifc had been done that day reflected the highest credit on the Installing Master . It clearly indicated the deep interest he took in the Order . He coupled with the toast the health of the Past Masters of the Lodge . Tho toast was drunk with enthusiasm , and Bro . Petty followed with a song , which amused the company greatly . Bro . Potts , iu reply , said : Worshipful Master and

Brethren , I thank you sincerely for tho kindness shown mo on this , as well as on all occasions when my name has been brought before you . I have acted the part of Installing Master to-day , not under tho most favourable state of health , yet it is always a source of pleasure for me to do a duty wheu it has to be attended to in fche affairs of the Lodge . I did not think tho office I havo performed to-day

would devolve ou me so successively , but 1 have thegratifyiug approval of tho brethren for my efforts . The task is nofc so difficult as many may thiuk ; all that is required is application aud attention , and any brother may do it . Ou bohalf of the P . M . ' s I may say they are always ready to do all they can to further the best interests of the Lod * i . The W . M . next honoured tho Visitors with a hearty reception , arid

entrusted with the gavel to propose tho Charities . Our Masonic Charities wore tho roof , of ihe Craft . He was a Life Governor , and , if wealthy enough , would gladly he so over and over again . He exhorted the brethren to do all in their power for theso noble Institutions . The toast was responded to b y Bro . Corbett , who felfc proud of boing a Life Governor of the Boys and Girls . He also urged the

brethren todo their best for the Charities * . Ho then proposed the health of tho Ladies , and united with the ( cast the mime ef Bro . Owen , who very genially responded . There was a call for Bro . Rose , the re-elected Secretary , and that , worthy brother expressed his thanks for the signal of regard which prompted the brethren to ask him to say a few words . He had again accepted the office assigned

to him with pleasure , and as his attention to his dut y had given them satisfaction in the past year—which ho hoped would bo surpassed in prosperity during I he next yeai—he wonld follow in the same good path . Tho Tyler ' s toast " was given , and tho brethren separated at a seasonable hour . We regret , that pressure on onr » paca has prevented the earner insertion of this report .

THE Annual Convocation of this Chapter was held afc the Chapter Rooms , Sankey-street , Warrington , on the 10 th instant , at four o ' clock in the afternoon . Z ., when tbe rest of tho Companions were admitted , and among them wo noticed Comps . J .

After tho transaction of some routine business , the Chapter was closed , and tho Corapanious adjourned to the Fatten Arms Hotel , whero au excellent tea was provided by Mr . and Mrs . Chew . After tea the usual Loyal

aud Masouic toasts wero given from tho chair . The M . E . Z ., iu response to tho toast of his health , said he did not wish to disguise from them the fact that he felt proud of the position they had again elected him to . He was one of fche founders of the Chapter , the . irst H ., and at tho present time the senior member . He hoped . hat the honour and credit of the Chapter would bo advanced , even

to a higher position than it now enjoyed during his year of office , and . that when the time arrived he should instal his Masouic offspring as his successor to rule over a nourishing and efficient Chapter . AU tho Officers were good " workers , " and he hoped to see them rise by regular gradatious fco the position ho then had tho honour to fill . Iu proposing the P . Z . ' s , he spoke very highly of Ex . Comps . Brierlev and

Fiuuoy , whom he said had the good oi Royal Arch Masonry afc heart . In response to his health , Ex . Comp . Edelsten , Installing Prinm ' p-il , wgured _ well for the Chapter under the enlightened rule of the \ I . E . Z . ' . ~ Other toasts followed , interspersed by excellent songs from Comps .
