Digby , Swanborough , Johnson , & e . Bro . Haddro assured the brethren that it afforded him great pleasure to attend . This was the first visit , ho had over paid to a London Lodgo , and ho had thoroughly enjoyed it . No man moro deserved tho success thafc had attended him than tho AV . M ., who was fully entitled to his present proud position . Bro . Swanborough expressed tho pleasure he had
experienced dnring tho evening . He felt quite at homo among tho members of 177 , so many of them being personally known to him . Ho had been told that his elder brother was initiated into Freemasonry in this Lodgo some 25 years since ; ho was now pleased to visit , as ifc were , old friends of tho family . Bro . Parkes paid tho members a compliment for tho excellent way in which tho work of
the Lodgo had been conducted . If ever ho had rho fortune to bo elected to fill tho chair of a Lodge ho hoped ho might bo able to conduct tho affairs as well ns they wero carried out afc tho Domatie . Bros . Johnson , Digby and Briggs also responded . Bro . Digby said ho had attended that night to seo if ho conld learn anything that wonld enable him to perforin tho ceremony in his own Lodgo better than ho
wns before capable of doing , and ho must admit thafc ho had gained considerable knowledge from what ho had seen . Tho AV . M . next proposed the health of tho P . M . ' s . Thoy wero esteemed for their worth , and honoured for their antiquity . Of ono thing thero could be no donbt , tho P . M . ' s of tho Domatie had for years pasfc dono their duty : ono and all had ever been ready and willing to do everything in
their power for tho good of tho Lodge . Tho AV . M . specially referred to Bro . Elmes , the father of tho Lodge , who he said was especially entitled to hononr , having been a member of tho Lodge for npwards of forty years . Ho concluded by expressing a wish that tho P . M . ' s might long bo spared to tako a part in tho meetings of tho Lodge . Bro . Walford considered it a great privilege to bo numbered among
the P . M . s of tho Domatie Lodge , ho had enjoyed tho position for some years past . He believed that all the P . M . ' s wore actuated by the same feelings as he himself , —to do everything in their power to secure tho prosperity of the Lodge . Bro . Elmes briefly tendered his thanks . Bro . Fergnson hoped the P . M . ' s would ever strive to obtain and always secure the good feeling of tho members . Bro . Kent
said the main object among tho P . M . ' s was to strive who shonld serve the Lodgo the most . Bro . Willing congratulated tho W . M . on tho able manner in which he had that day been installed . Tho P . M . ' s were very pleased to see tho AV . M . had arrived at the summit of a Mason ' s ambition . Ho believed tho selection of Officers was everything thafc conld be desired . In giving tho toast of tho Treasurer
and Secretary , tho AV . M . said that tho two brethren who filled those positions in tho Domatie Lodge were everything that conld be wished . The brethren well knew , and thoroughly appreciated , the value of the brother who had undertaken tho dnty of Treasurer . Bro . Everett had always worked for tho interests of tho Lodge , and had secured the unanimous support , of the members .
Bro . Morris tho Secretary followed worthily in tho steps of tho Treasurer . The brethren had heard how the Auditors had complimented him , and one and all knew how well he had performed tho duties of his office . Bro . Everett , in reply , would content ; himself by saying that all tho good things that had been said about tho Domatie Lodgo were correct . The members wero happy , united , and
unanimous . Ho had set his heart in doing all in his power to seenro the happiness of the brethren , nnd ho hoped his efforts had been successful . Bro . Morris felfc ho had but dono his duty ; ns an Officer of the Lodge , ho shonld try and givo equal satisfaction during the coming year thafc he had in tho past ; and if tho W . M . 's successor conld speak of him as tho AV . M . had that night done , he
shonld feel amply repaid for tho tronblo he was put to in carrying out the work of his office . The AV . M . then proposed tho health of tho Officers ; this toast ho characterised aa ono always cordially drunk by tho members of tho Domatie Lodge . All must know that it wonld be impossible to manage a Lodge without good Officers ; he felt that thoso appointed thafc night had done their
duty in the past , and wonld continue to do so . Ho hoped that each in turn would bo honoured by the Lndgo conferring on him the highest appointment it was in their power to bestow . After a response from each Officer , the Tyler ' s toast was given , nnd the brethren separated . Among the Visitors wero Bros . W . Bcavis I . G . 879 , A . Price 1351 , AV .
