THE Provincial Grand Chapter was held on Tuesday , 13 th inst ., by permission of the Apollo University Lodge , in their Masonic Hall , in Frewin Court , Oxford . The Provincial Superintendent Companion H . Adair

Pickard presided , supported by the Eight Hon . Viscount Valentia H ., and Dr . E . W . M . Pope J ., with the other Prov . Grand Officers for the year .

, The Eight Hon . the Earl of Jersey Prov . Gr . Master of the Craft for Oxfordshire was present . There was also a fair attendance of Companions from each of the Chapters constituting the Province .

The roll of the Chapters , and of the Provincial Officers , having been called and responded to , the

minutes of the last P . G . Chapter were read and confirmed . The M . E . / Z . proposed a vote of five guineas to the Eoyal Masonic Institution for Girls , which was adopted . Companions H . and the Treasurer ( Comp . H . G . W . Drinkwater ) severally read their reports , which were received and passed , and the Treasurer was re-elected .

The following Officers were then appointed for the ensuing year , and were invested : —

The banquet was subsequently held in the Clarendon Hotel , the chair being taken by the Provincial Superintendent , supported on his right by Viscount Valentia and Lord Jersey , and on his left by Comp . Thos . Elev . A

very enjoyable evening was spent . The customary Loyal and Arch toasts were given and severally responded to .

the Earl of Yarborough . Bro . Chas . Scorer , clerk of the peace for the parts of Lindsey , was duly invested Deputy Provincial Grand -Master , vice the late Bro . E . C . Carline , of Lincoln . The following Brethren were appointed Officers for

THE annual meeting of this Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Masons was held on the 19 th inst ., at Ehyl , the Provincial Grand Master Bro . Col . Charles Hunter presiding over an exceptionally large attendance of Brethren from all parts of the Province .

Bro . Lieut .-Col . Gordon Warren was re-appointed Deputy of the Province , and the following invested as the assistant Officers of the year :

At the conclusion of the business of the day the Brethren had banquet together at the Westminster . Kesponding to the toast of his health the Provincial Grand Master referred , says the " Liverpool Mercury , " to the great increase which had taken place in Mark Masonry , no fewer than forty Lodges having been added to the roll of the Degree iu England last year .

THE Annual Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of this Province was held at Dudley , on Monday , the 19 th inst ., under the banner of the Godson Lodge , No . * 830 . There were present Bro . A . F . G ., and very many Officers and members of the respective Mark Lodges in the Province , also visiting Brethren , Bros . Wright Wilson Prov . G . M . Secretary

Warwickshire , and Harry Clark 340 . After the usual routine business the Treasurer ' s accounts were approved , showing a credit balance . Bro . W . E . Walker was unanimously re-elected Treasurer , and a vote of thanks awarded for past services . The Chaplain delivered a well considered and

appropriate address . The alms were collected for the Mark Benevolent Fund . Bro . W . A . Campbell volunteered as Charity Stewaid . Some charitable grants were made . The Prov . Grand Lodge was invited to Worcester for the next annual meeting , under the banner of the Lechmere Lodge , No . 59 . The P . G . M . appointed his Officers as follow :
