Dalhousie Lodge of Instruction , No . 860 . —Held afc Bro . Smyth's , Sisters' Tavern , Pownall-road , Dalston , on Tuesday last . Present—Bros . Glass W . M ., Catlin S . W ., Christian J . W ., Smyth S . D ., Cracknel ! J . D ., Larter I . G ., Cart * Secretary , Wallington P . M . Preceptor ; also Bros . Webb , Robinson , Biggs . Lodge was opened in dne form , and the minutes of previous meeting were read

and confirmed . Lodge was opened in tho second degree , and Bro . Carr offered himself as candidate for raising , was interrogated and entrusted , and in due course raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason . The W . M . gave the traditional history . Bro . Webb worked the first section of the lecture assisted b y the brethren . Bro . Catlin was elected W . M . for the ensuing week .

Hyde Park Lodge of Instruction , No . 1425 . —The usual weekly meeting was held at the new quarters of the Lodge , the Norfolk Square Hotel , Paddington , on Monday , 20 th inst . Present—Bros . Mote W . M ., Hardy S . W ., Smith J . W ., Holland S . D ., Mitchell J . D ,, Morse I . G ., Dehane Secretary j Cursons , White , Wiokens , Simp , son . Lodge was opened in due form , and the minntes of the previous

meehn were read and confirmed . The ceremony of passing was rehearsed , Brother Cursons candidate . After the Lodge had been called on and off , Brother White 1637 was elected a member . Brother Wickins , on behalf of the Audit Committee , read a satisfactory statement of accounts . Bro . Smith then presented the Lodge

with three handsome pedestals , and trusted that the brethren , who in future mighfc preside afc them , would do so in a truly Masonio spirit . A hearty vote of thanks was then recorded to Brother Smith for his gift . The Lodge was adjourned until Monday , 27 th instant , when Bro . Hardy 201 will be W . M .

After preliminaries the ceremony of raising was rehearsed in a very able manner , Bro . Hopkins candidate . The brethren

first practised entry drill , then steps in the third degree . Bro . Myers worked the first and second sections of the lecture , assisted by the brethren . The Lodge was regularly closed down . A vote of thanks was recorded on the minutes for the able manner in which Bro . Wesfc had worked fche ceremony for the first time in the Lodge . Bro . Musto jun . was unanimously elected W . Collingridge , a candidate for passing , answered the questions , and
