M . elect was presented and duly installed in the chair in tho presence of 18 W . M . 's and P . M . ' s , Bro . Walker performing tho ceremony in n very perfect manner

he was deservedly complimented by the brethren and visitor .-. Ou the readmission of the brethren , tho cuscomary salutations were given , and the following were appointed and invested as Officers — Walker I . P . M ., Wickens S . W .. Humfress J . W ., Welford P . M . Treas . Allen

P . M . Secretary , Bidon S . D ., Drew J . D ., Bnr'onl . G ., Curtis and Cottebrnne P . G . P . D . C . 's , Bell Assistant D . C , Eaton Organist , Curtis W . S ., Belsham Assistant W . S ., Thomas Tyler . The selecrion niiido by the Master seemed to be generally acceptable to the LocKc .

Hearty good wishes wore tendered , and Lodge was closed . Tho brethren , to the number of ninety , sat down in the largo and commodious room to a very sumptuons ancl recherche banquet and dessert , provided by Bro . Rieder . Grace having been sung , the W . M ., in excellent terms , proposed tho Loyal and Masonic toasts , that of

H . R . H . the Prince of Wales Most Worshipfnl Grand Master being received with loud and enthusiastic cheering . In speaking to the toast of the Grand Officers , the W . M . said they had a Grand Officer present , one whom thoy were proud to havo with them , that was their respected Bio . Cottebrnne P . G . P . In reply , Bro . Cottebrnne said

it was uot his intention to make a long speech ; for twenty-seven year . * he had had to return thanks for tho P . M . ' s , and for many yeard for the Grand Officers . He was proud to be associated with so distinguished a body . He was ono of the founders of this Lodge . Bro . Walker I . P . M . " had now to propose the toasfc of the W . M . It

was somo years since the W . M . had been initiated ; he hacl passed through every cilice , ancl had done this with great efficiency ; he wished Bro . Joy a most enjoyable and successful year of office . Brother Joy , in reply , thanked Brother Walker for the kind manner ho bad spoken of him , and the brethren for their response to th *

toast . Tie was prond to bo installed as Master of this Lodge ; ho fc ; listed during his year of office thafc he should give them satisfaction , lie felt especial pleasure in following so cxc . 'llonfc a Master as the one who had preceded him . He would strive to follow iu his footsteps and , with the assistance of the brethren , hoped to conduct the

business to their satisfaction . In speaking of the Immediate Past Master , Bro . Walker , the W . M . said the members had good reason to appreciate his working ; he is held in estimation by all in the Lodge . ft was with great pleasure he hacl now fc-j present him with a Pasfc Master ' s jewel , ancl a collar ; he hoped they might be present

together on many future occasions , and that Bro . Walker would a ' ways feel a pride in wearing it . In response , Bro .
