9 . KEPORT OF THE BOARD OF GENERAL PURPOSES . To the United Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of England . The Board have to report that in the month of December last , the Strong Man Lodge , No . 45 , London , preferred a complaint against

their late Treasurer of having refused to hand over to his successor the Bum of £ 1616 s 6 d of the Lodge funds whioh he stated he had already paid many years ago to a former Seoretary , bnt which payment had never been referred to in the accounts submitted by him yearly for audit , nor until a new Treasnrer had been eleoted in bis place .

The Board having summoned all parties before them , heard tho complaint , and decided that the amount in question was due by the Brother , and ordered him to pay the same forthwith .

Quarterly Communication Of United Grand Lodge.

After an interval of several weeks , the Lodge reported that the Brother in question had not complied with the Order of the Board , and had resigned his membership , on which the Beard summoned him to appear before them on 21 st April , to answer a charge of contumacy , but he did not so appear .

The Board thereon issued a peremptory summons to him , by registered letter , again ordering him to appear before them on this day to answer the same oharge , but of this Bumraous he has taken no notice .

The Board havo consequently resolvod that , in accordance with the powers conferred on them by Article 274 Book of Constitutions , this Brother be suspended from all his rights and privileges aa a Freemason until he has compliod with their order to pay to the Strong Man Lodge , No . 45 , the said sum of £ 16 16 s 6 d , and grace be granted .

To the Report is subjoined a statement of the Grand Lodge Accounts at the last meeting of the Finanoe Committee , held on Friday , the 15 th day of May instant , showing a balance in tho Bank of England ( Western Branoh ) of £ 8523 0 s 2 d , and balance of annual allowance for library £ 42 12 s lOd , and in the hands of the Grand Seoretary for petty cash £ 100 , and for servants' wages £ 100 .

General Purposes be tendered to the President , V . W . Bro . Thomas Fenn , for the very able and courteous manner in which he has presided over the meetings of the Board during the past year . "
