The CHAIRMAN next proposed " the Masonic Charities , viz . tbe Girls ' and Boys' Schools , and the AA'idows' and Annuity Funds , " charities of which Masonry might well be proud . He fully expected to have seen the respective Secretaries of those Institutions present , but no doubt they were unavoidably absent ; he ivas glad , hoivever , to see in bis place Bro . CREW returned thanks at some length : in tbe course of bis observations he stated , that be bad tbe pleasure to assure the Brethren that the Girls' School was in a very prosperous condition , so much so that the present premises having been found inadequate for tbe accommodation of tbe children , and their lease having nearly expired , the House Committee had been able to purchase and pay for a new piece of groundon whichto erect
, , a suitable building , and that the plans and specifications bad been supplied by the W . Bro . Phillip Hardwick , G . Sup . of AA orks , who bad estimated tbe cost at 7000 / . After several other toasts , enlivened by very excellent and appropriate music , the meeting separated at low twelve ! We cannot conclude this notice without recommending this and similar Lodges of Instruction to all Brethren ; we sincerely congratulate this Lodge
in particular , on the great benefit it has conferred on the Craft by such meetings , such excellent working , and tbe exhibition of such good and kindly feelings as pervaded this crowded assembly ; ail of which not only do honour to the Craft , but tend , more than we may be generally disposed to think , to the advancement of the best interests of Masonry , as ivell as to tbe qualification of young Masons for the duties ivhich will speedily devolve upon them . —ESTO PERPETUA . !
NEBTUNE LODGE , No . 22 . —A meeting of this Lodge was held at tbe King's Head Tavern , Poultry , AVednesday , the 11 th June , on which occasion three Brethren ivere initiated , two passed , and one raised . After tbe business of the evening , a number of Brethren and A'isitors sat down to an excellent banquet . Among Ilia Visitors ii-as Bro . Charles Madue , of the Celtic I , odge , Edinburgh , who appeared in tbe Highland costume . The health of this Alsiting Brother ivas proposed in a separate toast , and received with much
enthusiasm . Bro . MACICIE , in returning thanks , expressed his admiration of tbe whole proceedings of the evening ; he had been both delighted and instructed , for in the midst of the cares of business be required to be reminded of many things ; and be felt highly gratified by the kind invitation he had received from tbe AV . Master , Bro . Feast , and the Brethren of that highly respectable and prosperous Lodge . AVben be revisited his native land , he would
feel great pleasure in relating tbe kind manner , in which he had always been received by bis English Brethren , and especially by the Neptune Lodge . Tbe harmony of the evening was kept up with great spirit , and the hospitality stopped within the limits of good order .
POLISH NATIONAL LODGE , No . 778 . —At the meeting of this Lodge on AVednesday , the 25 th inst ., Bro . Lord Dudley Coutts Stuart was installed AV . M . by Bro . AA atson , who performed the important ceremony in bis usual excellent and impressive manner . After the business of tbe Lodge bad been concluded , the Brethren retired to refreshment , when the following toasts were given : " The Queen and tbe Craft ; " " Prince Albert and the rest of tho Royal Family -, " " The Earl of Zetland , M .
