, answer to the address presented to him , was read , m which , after affectionately thanking the Fraternity for their respectful attention to himself ; the letter of the Grand Master stated that he had presented tbe address to Her Alajesty the Queen * A letter from Brother the Earl Howe in answer to the address to the t » "ueen Dowager was read b y the Grand Secretary . On the Report from the Board of General Purposes being discussed , some amendments carried
were relating to the lease and alterations A list of Lodges in avrear was read from the Board of Finance , and referred back to the Board for more extended information A motion ( as formall y given by previous notice in Committee ) by the Alost AVorshipful Grand Master , was read , " That the election of Masters and 1 ast-iAIasters should in future be by ballot , and that a Alaster and 1 ast-Master of the same Lod ge should not be eli gible . " Brother Henderson ' s motion as to a Alasonic Library and Museum was referred to the Board of General Purposes , with directions to report
xhe motion as to the Asylum for Aged and Decayed Freemasons was then adveyted to b y Brother Crucefix , who , after a few brief sentences , evidentl y delivered under great agitation , requested the Brethren to permit him to postpone the motion until next Communication , as he had received some intimations that rendered it most expedient that he should sohcit an audience of the Grand Alaster . The motion was then postponed , and the Grand Lodge closed .
