BOARD OF GRAND STEWARDS . —Brother John Tidcombe Hazard has been returned from Lodge , No . 23 , vice Brother Thomas Knoivles , deceased . JIASTERS AND AA ' AHDENS . —Although the entry book has been more numerously signed than usual , still there are many defaulters , for whose benefit we republish the following extract from the Quarterl y Communication of 29 th April , 1835 : — " Resolved , —That the JIasters and AVardens
of Lodges in the London district do , within one month after their appointment to office , sign their names in the book at the Grand Secretary ' s office , in conformity with the clause 10 , page SO , of the Book of Constitutions , which has of late ( probably through inadvertence ) been much neglected , —as the Grand Lodge will , after this notice , be compelled to deal with any future neglect , as a breach of Masonic law . " GRAND OFFICERS' CLUB . —Brother Shadholt has been appointed Treasurer .
CHAPTER OF OBSERVANCE . —Brother the Rev . Gilbert Gilbert has been elected Treasurer . BRO . NAHUM CAPEN . —This distinguished Brother , who as corresponding Grand Secretary to the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts , United States , has been delegated by that bod y to present an address to H . R . H , the Duke of Sussex , had lately the honour of an interview with the M . W . G . JI . It is needless to add that it was of a most
interesting nature , and that Brother Capen has left England deeply impressed with its importance , and gratified by the result . AA ARRAN-rs DESIRED . —Strange but true . There are some parties , and of influence , too , who at the present moment would be happy to join some Lodges whose numbers may be unequal to prosperous work . Tempera mutantur—Verbum sat .
INITIATIONS . —AVe have had a list of various Lodges , in which the initiations have been most numerous . Among them we may state the list on the J'loira summons was lately eleven , on the Peace and Harmony eight . GRAND STEWARDS' LODGE , Jlarch 16 . —Bro . S . C . Norris , AV . M . At the public night this evening 136 visitors attended . BANK OF ENGLAND LODGE , 329 , 3 d Jlarch . —The annual ball given bthe members of this Lod
y ge exceeded the former , if possible , in the fashionable attendance of the ladies—certainl y , the numbers were greatly , increased . The steivards deserve every praise for their exertions , which were completely successful in ensuring a deli ghtful evening for their fair guests . At the supper , which was very splendid , the W . M ., Brother Starling , and Brother AA atkins , P . M ., were very happy in their addresses to the company . It is right to state , that the surplus of the receipts is devoted to the benevolent fund of the Lod ge .
