, to be rubrical antl canonical , in matters of apparent indifference adopts a system of expediency , and succumbs to popular opinion ; the other takes a bolder stand , and diving into the dusty archives of antiquity , has endeavoured to restore mystic rites and significant symbols , which in these our times we had been taught to considered " more honoured in the breach than the observance .
